Title: Not Even K'Hare is Perfect Post by M`rek on Feb 2nd, 2005, 10:31pm (Please Read All) As anyone would make a mistake, even K'Hare can. I was looking at the Brackets today and for some time I had been curious on what the names of the Brackets meant. I still am not well versed in the Klingon Language but I have a Klingon Dictionary. It wasn't until today that my curiosity got to best of me and I translated the names. Apparently the Brackets are supposed to be named by color. SuD = green, blue, yellow. chIS = white qIj = black Now here is the mistake, and I can understand how it was made. DoQ = claim (territory) Where as Doq = orange, red. The one used in the name was DoQ. ;D ;D I have to say though. My HoD seems very happy. ;D |

Title: Re: Not Even K'Hare is Perfect Post by Ing The Puny on Feb 2nd, 2005, 11:00pm Interesting. Klingons have one word for blue, green, and yellow. So I suppose they use qualifiers to tell which shade they mean. So... "SuD Hurgh" would be 'pickle green', 'cucumber green'... or just 'dark green/blue/yellow' Right, Tauvits? ;) -Ing Edit: Klingon language game: What would it mean if a group of Klingons were cheering "yay! yay!" at the tournament? |

Title: Re: Not Even K'Hare is Perfect Post by So`l Mackenzie on Feb 2nd, 2005, 11:21pm Roughly translated, I beleve that means, "Oh darn, I beleve that will be something of a setback." |

Um, maybe if they were cheering in general, but I'm talking about specifically cheering "yay!" -Ing Someone check my Klingon: yay nuHeghchoHmeHwI' ghapqu'! Edit: That is, of course, the Chang version. What I really meant was: yay nuHeghchoHmeHwI' joqqu'! (also added the -wI' suffix) |

Title: Re: Not Even K'Hare is Perfect Post by Q`olavraH on Feb 6th, 2005, 11:21pm The fact that Tappy thinks I'm impaired means I am doing something right. As long as he keeps thinking it, then I know I am doing as I should. |
