Title: Arrival: IKS wa'pach (meH'Haj crew)
Post by Ta`pez HoD on Feb 7th, 2005, 6:27pm

Ta'pez was stitting quietly in his command chair. The wa'pach and his crew were aproaching XFY, this years site of the Competition. To Ta'pez it was almost ironic, the tournament had grown into a ritual of humiliation and defiance.  Every year the K'brd Lok and their kind would interfere. He hated it,  and yet there was nothing he could do about it except spite them. Spite by besting them in combat was all he could give them, and spite he did.

"Do not fear those who can kill the body but cannot hurt the soul, fear those who can kill body and soul and thow them into the eternal  fires of Grethor."  he muttered to himself.

"HoD?"

Ta'pez looked up, apperently he had been over heard.

"Contact the XFY once we decloack" he replied.

"Yes HoD," said Ness.

"Do it by protocol, we would want to break any of their precious federation regulation." Ta'pez added.

"Decloaking, now," Ness said, as the lights came up and the ship appeared, still distant from XFY, "wa'pach to Xavier.  Requesting permission to dock."

"This is Chief Warrant Officer Hask Gheuty.  Permission granted, wa'pach.  Sending docking port coordinates.  Would you like to be beamed aboard?"

Ta'pez repplied: "No, well use the hatch."

"Very well," Gheuty replied, "Xavier out."

Ta'pez looked at K'vok "You heard the federation, do as he said."

Ness tapped his console, "Coordinates received.  K'Vok, take us to 44 mark 22."

"Acknowleged, moving to 44 mark 22," K'Vok replied.

The wa'pach sharply curved towards the vector assigned by the dockmaster.

As they settled in the docking bay Ta'pez stood up."Those who are participating in the tournament will have no duty onboard while competing, the rest are free to do as they please provided that their half day shift is done."

He looked at ness. "The starbase is providing space for all of you  so if you wish to reside on the base you are welcome to do so.

"Starfleet quarters will be a nice change," Ness remarked.

OFF: Neirbo, I hope you don't mind I borrowed your NPC from the Scott docking post

K'Tar stepped through the airlock with his Bat'leth in hand and his d'k'tagh sheathed on his belt.  He stopped to take in the Federation station and snarled.  "The mighty Federation with all its comforts," K'Tar said to himself in disgust.  Two Starfleet Security Officers approached K'Tar.  The lead officer, seemed especailly young.  Perhaps just graduated from the Academy.  "Get out my way, human Petaq"

"I'm, uh, sorry, sir, but I must see your invitation for the tournament."

K'Tar could sense the nervousness with this human as he looked down at the weak thing that blocked his path.  K'Tar took a PADD and thrusted it into the officers chest.  "There is my proof human, now let me pass."

The officer looked over the orders.  "Very well.  Welcome to Xavier Fleet Yards."

K'Tar then headed for the location of the tournament.  He wanted to get a layout of the arena and the contenders.

Ness stepped out next, with his bat'leth strapped to his back.  He was already carrying the PADD with the invitation.  He handed it to the security guard.

"Welcome to the 3rd Annual Bravo Fleet Bat'leth Tournament." the guard replied.

"Thank you, Ensign," Ness replied as he walked past.

M'Rek was next to step out.  The large 7ft. + Hirogen/Klingon hybrid took up most the hatch of the airlock.  He stepped out and straightened with his new batleth held wrapped in leather in one arm.  He had recently received from the Chang's Blade smith.  On the trip here he had worked to get adjusted to the new blade, as most the batleth's he had used were slightly to small.  Now he was prepared.

He stepped out and as ever silent he walked up to the Starfleet Guard and held out his invitation.  "Be quick."  The Human looked up to meet M'Rek's eyes nerviously before taking the offered PADD.  He stepped back a bit as he checked over the invitation and then nodded.  "You are cleared....  Welcome to Xavier Fleet Yards."

M'Rek had found no need to stay past the part where he was told he was cleared and had already gone on past before the Human could finish.  He started on his way out of the docking bay.  He had three things in mind to do.  First thing; check out the arena, second; check out the food that was served on station, and third; would be to look into the quartering.

<a few hours later>

Ta’pez was sitting quietly in his quarters when the doors opened. Be’thal walked in, he was slightly annoyed that she was here, yet he didn’t say anything.

“You haven’t been on station yet, not answering your communication badge,”  Be’thal said. “one would think you were hiding.”

Ta’pez didn’t look at her, his eyes were still closed and he remained seated. He had been meditating on the upcoming events.

“I have my own schedule Be’thal, you know that well.” Ta’pez said.

Be’thal didn’t respond, Ta’pez had once more become by a petaq, reminding her of the snubs of the past.  She wanted to respond of course but didn’t want respond for the conversation would become too insulting for either of them to continue.

“So what brings you here my dear sister?” Ta’pez asked Be’thal. The be’ hated the fact that Ta’pez was  the joHs adopted brother.

Be’thal handed him a piece of paper, it was a picture of K’Hare with romulan ears. Ta’pez opened his eyes and  looked at it, he chuckled.  “You have cought the impostor?”  he asked.

Be’thal sighted in exasperation, Ta’pez had not changed one bit.  “No but one of your associates managed to diffused the picture at Klach D’kel Brakt. K’Hare is furious at you.”

Ta’pez looked up at her. “And what exactly is new about that.”

“He will kill you if you continue” Be’thal said. “You should bury whatever conflict the two of you have.”

Ta’pez shook his head. “Don’t play a fool Be’thal, we both know the reason why he is angry, this was not  a fight of my choosing.”

Be’thal looked him. “Be careful Ta’pez he will be out for you.”

Ta’pez merely chuckled. “I will have his head if he tries to interfere.

T'lai was sitting in the command chair and she sighed as she thought silently.

'Ta'pez is gonna kill me after he finds out that I didn't register for the tournament.' She thought silently.  'I am seriously considering not to attend either.' She then watched the crew work busily to make sure they stay on course.

"K'Vok give me a status report." She said, feeling bored out of her mind.

Be'thal and Ta'pez came out onto the bridge.

"And this is the bridge,  the crew had to clean it, it was a mess after the battle." Ta'pez said. It was obvious he had been giving her a tour."

Be'thal adressed T'lai and K'vok. "Well seems like little House of Chang gathering."

She didnt know K'vok but deducted who he was, T'lai on the other hand  she knew from when they were children.

T'lai tensed slightly as Be'thal approached her.

"Greetings..." She said.  Her voice seemed a bit uneasy.

She then looked to Ta'pez.  "And what do we owe the honors of your guest's arrival?" She asked him.

K'Tar entered the arena area.  Final preperations were being done by the station's engineers.  K'Tar hung his Bat'leth on the wall of honor.  He kept his d'k' tagh on him though as he turned and decided to head for a nearby bar.  As he exited the arean, his mind went to Ceres.  For some strange reason, he had begun to feel guilty about striking her in the feast hall on Khitomer a few days agao.  Since then he had not spoken to her or seen her.  Perhaps he had acted too harshly.  Ceres could not help that she was half-human no more than he could help being Klingon.  He was so preoccupied with his thoughts, he did not see the Klingon woman he walked into.

"Watch where you are going, you...K'Tar?" The Klingon woman said as a smile formed.  "K'Tar!  My brother!  I did not know you were participating in this tournament."  The woman stood slightly shorter than 6 feet and was muscualr as her uniform showed off her well defined arms.

K'Tar smiled, it had been a long time since he had seen his sister.  "Baretha!  It is good to see you.  It has been too long."  K'Tar took Baretha's hand in the traditional Klingon handshake by grabbing the forearm.

"Indeed!  G'Narr is here as well!"

"Brother is here?  Where is he?"  K'Tar asked.

"He is in a nearby restaurant.  Come, lets join him!  The children of M'Rok are finally together again!" Baretha said with a typical Klingon laugh.

K'Tar joined Baretha as they entered the nearby restaurant.  KTar greeted his younger brother excitedly.  "G'Narr!"  G'Narr was slightly smaller than K'Tar is size and height, but he had a stern look to him that gave a sense of a warrior not to be crossed lightly.

"K'Tar!  It is good to see you!" G'Narr said, standing.

"It is good to see you as well," KTar said as he and Baretha sat across from G'Narr at the table.

The three siblings and warriors sat at the table, catching up on lost times.

"I was paying respects to my dear 'brother." Be'thal replied.

Ta'pez looked at the two scowled. "There will be enough time later for this, lets go to the base and get settled in, we can resume our conversation over diner tonight."

T'lai nodded.  "Yes sir." She said as she shot Ta'pez's sister a sharp glare.  She never did like Be'thal.
