Title: Stars and Stares Post by Loj_Hartson on Feb 8th, 2005, 12:37pm OFF: A backdated post that I was planning to post to Xavier’s list but thought it would serve as good a purpose here. ON: <Xavier Fleet Yards> <The Legion> They said that a person’s eyes revealed much about the state of one’s soul. If there was indeed any remnant of a soul left. Dark black space ornamented with the sparkling stars filled his vision though marred slightly by the transparent window that separated him from the cold vacuum beyond. Freighters, shuttles and starships occasionally adding to the scenery though it was not that which caught his gaze nor his thoughts. Blood overshadowed most of his laments. Blood and death. And honor, or what seemed to be. ‘It was what needed to be done’ were words that he constantly used to console himself. True words that were at the same time as false as his current preference for bloodwine. And still the liquid flowed down his throat like water through a funnel. Taste was the furthest thing from his mind for his tongue was as numb as most of his physical form. And even his spirit felt as such. The short beeps from his comm-badge brought a slight change from the routine that had been etched into his life, refilling and quaffing the Klingon beverage as if it were much needed oxygen in a body long deprived. A wry grin was all he gave to the calling of the shiny badge upon his uniform, halting him halfway from finishing his current tankard of bloodwine albeit altering the cycle that he had undertaken since that incident A pilot in need of a refresher course or his signature being required for the latest roster for the manning of the station’s vessels. Things that were under his care and yet things he cared not for, at least, not now. It had been days since Loj had even stepped into his office, let alone complete any paperwork needed. And though he settled most of what was important there were still the minor details that grew as important as the days lagged. He decided to let it lag slightly more. And with eyes glazed, though sober by far, he continued with his routine, this time in tandem with the rhythmic chirping of his comm-badge.
