Title: Weapons Laws Questions
Post by Ing The Puny on Feb 8th, 2005, 4:20pm

What about sparring matches, both spontaneous and otherwise? Are they allowed only in a specific area? People are not only going to want to test their betleH skills against each other, but they will also want to test out fighting with / against different forms of weapon.

What about weapons demonstrations, exhibition fights, and so forth? I remember last year there was a meqleH fight between be'thal and Qol.

What about people checking out each others' weapons, usual or unusual? I remember last year Loj was wandering around with an unusual sword, is it ok for him to take it out to let someone else get a look at in, and maybe heft it for some practice swings?

And, perhaps most importantly, how are the Klingons who are used to Klingon culture going to be informed in-character of the weapons laws?

Klingons know the cowardly federation weapons rules so they would adjust.  The Daqtagh, the dagger, is part of the uniform so that will be an issue if the XFY crew trys to get them to remove it.  But for the most part, they will wear them openly and not carry concealed weapons.  (Individual PCs might vary of course.)

If anyone wants to have been scheduled for an exhibition match with some other weapon, that is, if anyone wants to post something like what be'thal and be'eQaraH or Aklev did last year, then assume that arrangments were made.

The combats happen in arenas for the purpose of betleH fighting.  (Imagine something like sumo Dohyos).  With the weapons on the wall of weapons it is easy enough to grab them and practice in the same area where the matches happen, but at off hours.  There should be places to put other betleH and near the wall area there should be some generic betleH and meQleH and other common weapons just for this purpose.

K'Hare has one up somewhere in case he is challenged.

K'Hare has this one covered well.
