Title: Retrospective Post by Verghese Siminway on Feb 11th, 2005, 7:49am OOC: darn, leave here for two days and its so darn difficult to catch up. Afraid that im going to have to skip the others and go straight to late night, since I have no clue as to what's going on. IC: The view was like none other, and right now, Verghese could hardly imagine he found this place to see it either. Earlier on in the day, after the welcome ceremony, he had gone first to his quarters to practice, and then found it a little too....'cramped' for his tastes. He had then decided to roam around the corridors in the non-restricted zone, trying his best to find a training spot. It was pretty unsuccesfull....until he had found this empty store. It was on one of the lower decks of the blue zone, where few shops were open or even occupied. Verghese had then found this store, empty, unoccupied and it's doors wide open. He should have ignored it, Verghese kept thinking to himself. But now, standing in front of the vast window that stretched from one wall of the store to the other, Verghese couldn't help but get mesmerized by it. The window faced out directly to the planet below, and it was in night rotation. The darkness of the planet was broken up by several lights not only on the ground, but above it as well, in the form of a multitude of starships gathered around the base. He watched as slowly and surely, his view was blocked by a passing Akira class starship. It's port nacelle passing rather close to the station and casting an eery glow into the rest of the room. He continued to watch the activities outside the starbase, unable to tear his eyes away. Finally, he was able to manage it. Looking at the bag he had brought, Verghese bent to pick it up. Opening the bag, he took out his Betleth. The first match would begin tomorrow, and he was going to need to train a bit with it. Taking it in his left hand, he felt the weight and adjusted the amount of strength he was holding it with his right. Strength was not going to be his only weapon this year - he had to see to that. But with his right leg sharing almost identical properties as that of a steel girder, it was going to be problematic, to say the least..... Hmm.....not fast on the feet....better make up with the arms then. he thought to himself. When sparring with K'hare earlier, Verghese had been carefull to use only the moves necessary to counter K'hare, not letting on any more. What had surprised him was the fact that K'hare had used romulan moves against them. The only reason Verghese had recognized it was because he had seen it being demonstrated before, but only with a dagger as opposed to a batleth. This simply added suspision to K'hare current situation. An imposter had taken his place, an imposter whose nature was romulan, possibly had advanced technology like none other and was probably following K'hare. Hell, they obviously had enough technology to capture a caradassian warship and strand it in space! Hell knows what they could do with Federation or even Civil- Verghese froze. A thought hit him, along with a rather sick and suspicious feeling in the stomach. Putting the Betleth back, he packed up the bag and rushed out the store. He needed to check something, and needed to check it immediately. <no tags. just a single post to catch up...> |
