So'l retched once more, and he lost the last of his small breakfast into the toilet. His stomach muscles unclenched as he leaned back against the hall opposite the bowl.

He stayed down there for a few more minutes, waiting to steady. He pulled himself up to the sink, and began to bush his teeth. Without being aware of it, he avoided looking at the mirror.

So'l left his quarters, and headed for the area reserved for the competitors to practice in, stopping to pick up his batletH on the way. He began to go through some routines, but couldn't bring himself to finish them.

He didn't understand why he was so nervous. It wasn't like this last time. A door opened behind him, and he was startled out of his thoughts. Looking at the clock he realized he'd been standing there for a while. His first match was in 15 minutes. He wouldn't get anything more done here. With a sigh, he turned and left.
