Title: honor modifiers
Post by K`Hare totlh on Feb 13th, 2005, 7:31am

I just checked the bios and right now I have honor levels for:

Tomas Wolfe
Davidian
roS'neQar Ross McEwan
Q'olavraH
So'l Mackenzie
Kieran Michael O'Donnell
Charlie Reynolds
Jake Ness
Falco Tauvits
K'Tar
M'rek
K'Vok
Loj Hartson
Jason Pepper
Jean Chandler
Verghese Siminway
A.J. Bernard
James Tal'Vur
Ta'pez
G'Trell James
Kira Naul Gordon
Rihan Kayton
K'megh son of Kohrel

but not:

Edward James Murphy
Jack
T'Linda
Talora
Xian Jorgensson Tseng
Dhivael Cha'Riuurren
K'rahl
Andrew Jones II
Shaydara

If you are on the list of people who have not set their honor level, then set it!  If you don't we will have to assume you are not here and you will lose your match automatically.

I have heard there is a problem with some people accessing the site.  They need to email me directly.  There is nothing on my site that purposely blocks anyone and since the few that have the problem are coming from the UK I have to believe it is the ISP doing it, or just an error in DNS.  If you hear about anyone having trouble getting to this site, tell them to try using the IP directly.  I don't know if that will help, but they can try.  Also tell them to email me.

batlh.com    66.211.140.3

I have tried just using the IP address and it fails for me.  But maybe they can put it in their local hosts files because the problem looks like DNS resolution.

Right now I am not reading the BF forums.  I read every post so if I don't have time to read all the messages, I don't log in.  This means right now, because of the tourney, I can't log in without losing track of the new messages.  Email is always the best way to reach me.  I am always on IM, but that doesn't mean I am at the keyboard.  So many people send me an IM message then log out and I can't reply then they get annoyed at me.

Just curious, what's the deadline?

If they don't set their honor status, best to not hold up the tourney and just have their characters automatically defeated in their first round or just assign them a neutral level.

We are letting this round take a little longer because it is the first one.  Later rounds will go quicker.

I have updated the list above but a few people put in thieir honor but not their next opponent.  If anyone is having trouble, contact me.  I would like you to set both your next opponent and your honor level so I can verify you intended that opponent for this round.  Later, if you win and move on, it could get confusing.  So check the brackets, find your opponent, read his bio, and then check and update your bio with his name and your honor level.

What do we do about opponents who have almost no info in their bios, and have yet to post in the tournament? How should we be judging them to set our own honor stance?

There seem to be a few people who just aren't posting and haven't signed up.

So, if you can't contact your opponent, post the match yourself.

In the email I sent I suggested a way for the match to go based on the rolls.  Use that as a guideline.  You can concentrate on your reactions after the fight and not the match itself.

If you can't get in contact with your opponent say so at the start of your post.  All you can do is try your best.

Also note that most of the bios have a link to the character's bio on their ship.  Just click their name on the bio from the manifest.

In this case, this has to do with my next opponent, not my first one. He has no bio on his ship site (I have been there and looked).

So, I'll wait and see if he posts anything, if not, I'll post the match myself like you suggest. It would just make things easier to determine which fighting style I should use, thats all.

Thanks for the reply.
