Title: M'Rek vs. K'vok
Post by M`rek on Feb 15th, 2005, 8:43pm

M'Rek had avoided the alcohol in the last hour before the Competition, allowing it to completely leave his system so that he could focus his thoughts.  The battle was about to begin and his opponent was K'vok.  A member of the meH'Haj crew as he was and half Vulcan.  He didn't know how much of the Vulcan physical abilities K'vok had inherited but he knew that there was a chance he would be facing someone who's speed and agility would be much greater than his, possibly the opposite.

He had his batletH from the wall now and carried it in both hands, the new blade shining beneath the lights.  The light dancing on the fine edge as he walked out into the ring.  There was a moment of silence from the crowd as the viewed the large Hirogen/Klingon dressed in not the hard well made armor like K'vok wore out in light armor that would provide some protection but not a whole lot in a First blood fight.  Then the crown began to murmur as M'Rek took his place on one side of the ring, facing K'vok.  "No grudges?"  He requested first as to hold a grudge would cause trouble on ship.

K'Vok held his bat'leth at ready. "None at all. Don't you think first blood is a little too easy?"

M'Rek smirked slightly.  "I will not disagree.  Knock out?"  It was not a smirk of over confidence but in reaction to the obviousness of the statement.

"Knock out it shall be. We can harass the Qel together...although, one of us will have to harass while unconscious."

M'Rek laughed deeply and raised his voice, "CHALLENGE IS KNOCK OUT!!"  His voice boomed threw the arena reaching the judges before the referee could speak.    M'Rek stood ready as the referee minorly set back announced the two competitors and repeated the choice of match.

"The challenge is knock out." K'Vok confirmed, then raised his bat'leth. The order was given for the fight to begin. K'Vok used the first attack, swinging towards the ribs.

The attack never made it closer than a foot before it was blocked.  M'Rek met K'Vok's eyes and stepped to the side raising his batletH for a strike of his own.  His batleth swung in a curve, the metal gleaming as he swung towards K'vok's side.  The strike showing a great amount of precession as their blades clashed once more, sparks flying.

His features showed the intensity of concentration that was put into the fight.

K'Vok pushed his opponent's bat'leth away, amazed at the strength of M'Rek. Growling, he thrust forward in what's generally an unorthodox move, focusing on the blunt end damage.

M'Rek returned the growl as the faster Klingon/Vulcan made another attack at him, he once more managed to block the attack, but the location and quickness of the strike caught him a bit off guard and the tip of the blade nicked his arm before he got his blade completely up.

K'Vok smiled for a second before M'Rek attacked him. He defended hastily, almost sealing his fate, but he managed to keep his balance.

"You fight well,"  M'Rek commented as he pulled back a bit from his last attack.  He would have to be careful how much energy he spent but at same time he would have to keep up with the speed and agility of the smaller man's attacks.

"I was trained well. You aren't bad yourself."

M'Rek just nodded and blocked another strike from K'vot.  Then seeing what might be a weakness in K'vok's defense he struck out.

K'Vok blocked, locking the blades together. In a rather bold, but rather stupid, move, he let go with one hand and punched M'Rek hard in the solar plexus...

Ness watched K'Vok and M'Rek's match intently.

Obviously, Ness had no interest in seeing K'Vok win the match, so he yelled out, "GO M'REK!"

Ta'pez who was also sitting and obersving watching with dismay at the behavoir of his Chief of Ops.

"Dont you think it's foolish to anger K'vok in this manner, the meH'Haj crew is fighting, show your loyalty." Ta'pez said sternly to him.

M'Rek suddenly felt some of the breath leave him, and quietly thanked the thicker bones he had, still it was enough to set him back some.  He stepped away regaining a bit of breath and cursing fluently in Hirogen and Klingon at the pain that had caused.  He could not let his opponent take advantage of it though and with a growl swung his blade, headed right for K'vok's exposed side.

K'Vok dove to the ground, rolling on his shoulder and pulling himself back up, panting slightly. He hadn't been expecting that.

Though K'vok hadn't noticed yet, M'Rek's blade had cut threw part of the armor and left a slash in k'vok's side.  M'Rek grinned and sent another attack coming forward with the blunt part of the weapon in an attempt to knock k'vok out.

K'Vok blocked and kicked, wincing slightly as he suddenly felt the cut in his side.

The kick landed in M'Rek's lower leg and he was knocked off balance.  He fell forward, landing on K'vok and rolling off, grabbing his blade he dropped as he did.

K'Vok jumped up again, attacking while both he and M'Rek were still a little off balance.

M'Rek was half standing again when K'vok attacked, he growled and instead of using blade to attack, he used the blade to deflect K'vok's blade and rammed into K'vok, using his body weight and size as an advantage.

K'Vok pulled his knee into his opponent's chest and rammed his elbow into the other half-breed’s head.

M'Rek let out an explosive grunt as his ramming was used against him to deliver a blow to his chest and head, enough to make him lightheaded and out of breath.  He managed to roll to the side and stand, though was a bit uneven on his feet.  He had also lost his blade somewhere.

"M'rek is a crewmember as well...  one I'd rather see advancing in the tournament," Ness replied.

"That is your choice Ness, however pitting the one against the other is not a wise move." Ta'pez said. "Unity is the mother of all victories Ness, remember that."

"But M'rek may not pay much attention to me, but he is nicer," Ness replied.

Ta'pez sighted. "K'vok will pay attention, and he will not be nice"  Ta'pez said. "He followed  the batle for moment intenslly and neither spoke.

"If I were to root for the one I would insult the other." Ta'pez said. "As  their HoD I must be neutral in word and deed if not in thought."

"I understand, HoD," Ness replied.

K'Vok took a moment to breathe, he also had lose his bat'leth. He took the oppertunity while M'Rek was bladeless to fetch his own

M'Rek saw his batletH and slightly stumbling he went over and grabbed it.  Then turned to face K'vok again, he was determined to fight until one of them was down.

He waited to make sure K'vok had his blade, stanind there ready but reserving a bit of energy until it was needed.

K'Vok nodded his head at M'Rek then attacked again. He was hurting, but had to finish this.

In M'Rek's point of view K'vok was a flying blur headed right at him, but he did not stand there stupidly.  He brought his blade up just in time for them to clash together.  He let out another Hirogen curse as he felt something enter his side.  Pain flared bringing his senses to full alert and he slammed his head into K'vok's face as their blades locked, and part of K'voks stuck in his side between two of his large ribs.  Not far fortunaly but enough the injure him.
and hinder his movements.

K'Vok pulled back, noticing the blood running down M'Rek's side. He blinked slightly, then attacked again.

M'Rek's hand went to his side and came away with dark purple blood.  Then he looked at K'vok who was likely about as disoriented as he was now and had blood running from his nose.  M'Rek grinned and with the call of his blood pounding away the pain from his injuries he made a swepping strike towards K'vok's chest, though it was hindered by the injury, and not as procise.

K'Vok spun, getting sliced in the arm by M'Rek's attack, but he spun and rammed the blunt edge of his bat'leH into the side of the other man's head.

M'Rek cried something out in Hirogen, as his head suddenly felt like it had exploded.  His vision swam and he stumbled, and with strong determination still he tried to make one last attack.  He stumbled and sent all his energy and weight into his fall, as his vision began to darken he was aware that he had managed to bring K'vok to the floor with him.  He muttered something in Klingon and Hirgoen right before he blacked out.

K'Vok breathed deeply as he laid on the mat, another deep gash in his side. The match was over, it was done, but darn that hurt

A Qel came over to check the two warriors, the vicotor and defeated both tangled together on the mat.  M'Rek was moved first, and there was what could only be a curse at the unknown parts of M'Rek's anatomy.

G'Trell watched the bout,  It was by far one of the finest displays of skill she had seen in a long while.  She knew a little bit of M'Reks streaght and K'Voks skill having fought both men recently.  She despreatly wanted to cheer out for them both but knew it would only cause pain.  Instead she watched intranced till the end.  K'Vok took the victory.  But they both had won in a way.  She contemplated going to sickbay to see to M'Rek,  but then the next round was annoced and she figured M'Rek would understand.  She leand back against the wall.  Ready to observe the next round.

"Oh I think we did, it was a brave display." Ta'pez said, with a somewhat smirking smile he added, "and if not they can always say they got a song and a match."

After he was moved out of the ring, M'Rek stirred a bit.  A medic was working on stoppoing the bleeding from the wound in his side befoer moving him the the medical facility.  M'Rek didn't notice however.  About the only thing he noticed was the spin of the room around him.

There was someone talking.  They were standing over him.  He tried to focus, 'A Qel?'  He did not want to be taken by a Qel (Doctor).  He started to sit up and instantly regreated it as the world seemed to explode in pain and dizziness.

He laid back again.  Who ever was working on him, their voice was extremly loud and just made his headache worse.  "bIjatlh 'e' yImev!  bIjatlh 'e' yImev!!!"  He growled in tlhingan Hol, telling whoever's loud mouth it was to shut up.  Then continued muttering something not so nice in tlhingan Hol, with few Hirogen curse words thrown in.

After the following fight G'Trell excused herself from her HoD's side and went to sick bay to check out M'Rek.  She had to admit she figured he would have been out by now and down to watch the rest of todays matches.  She was careful not to let any of her allings show as she picked through the maze of beds to wear M'Rek lay.

G'Trell: "Hey big guy!  What do you think your doing in here with the weaklings?  I know K'Vok is strong but hes not THAT strong!" She cuffed him playfuly on the cheek and was amused at how he winced.

G'Trell: " I hope you know I am just hackin on ya,  You look like hell,  Did they give you anything for the pain.?"

M'Rek grunted, "No.  I refused it."  He said, and was obvious he had also refused anything more than basic treatment for his injuries.  "I would be out of here by now if wasn't for these medical people."  He grunted as he slowly started to sit up, his torso snuggly and neatly bandaged.  "Any idea's to how I can get out of here?"  M'Rek gave a short Klingon Grin before the facial moment reminded him of the blow he had recieved in the side of the head from K'Vok.

G'Trell gave him a sly wink, " You want out?"  At his nodd she helped him get to his feet as best she could and lead him to the door.  The Doctor was quick to try to interspet them. "Hey we are under orders to report to the meHHaj,  If you have a problem with that take it up with Tapez HoD."  G'Trell smirked as the Doctor flushed and stepped aside.  Once out of ear shot M'Rek leand down and asked." Where we really ordered to the meHHaj?"

G'Trell gave him a half smile, "Sure we where, once she arrives that is."

M'Rek smiled and shook his head but said nothing,  After a short walk G'Trell looked at him.  " Well I gotta go I have some things to attend too."
