Title: Dhivael VS Pepper

=Tournament Arena=

Jason was motioned by one of his aides that it was his turn to fight. His BatletH was handed to him, and he walked towards the arena to find his opponent

Dhivael swung her batleth, impatient for her opponent to arrive. She noticed the movements of the colonel before she actually saw him. there was something about that human she thought. She drew a deep breath. Her level of skill was supposed to be higher then that of her opponent, but Dhivael remembered the upset from last year's tournament.

Jason entered the ring and never took his eyes from his opponents. He had a slight smirk on his face, the shocking reality that most people didn’t realise was that Jason was not just some human on a power trip out to fight. He was there to defend the honour of his house, and to fight in the name of Base. As he entered the ring he slowly rotated the batletH moving it from hand to hand whilst its blades moved round like a blender on very very slow.

"Till first blood, Till disarm, or till death" Asked Jason

"Sorry to spoil your bubble Jason," the Romulan began, "But death is out of the question, i have too much work to do when i get back. To first blood." she countered.

Jason smiled.

"Typical Romulan, likes to fight but scared of getting hurt, lets fight...unless you want to back out now and save yourself the humility of being beaten by a human"

"Sorry to ruin your fun, but I'm just as Starfleet as you." Dhivael remembered working with Pepper in the past; he was just trying to annoy her into making a dumb mistake. That wasn’t going to work with her, although Romulan’s were no longer Vulcan, Dhivael still had control of her emotions. She brought her blade up.

Jason's green eyes glistened, and a large smile appeared on his face. He raised his batletH and took up his fighting stance.

"A Romulan with spirit, now let’s see if you have honour"

He started to move the weapon round, spinning it and stepping sideways moving round in a circle like a vulture circling its prey

Dhivael fell back into a prepared stance, then spun it defensively and moved in a clockwise circle. After several seconds she chose a target and swung her blade at Pepper.

Jason stepped into the attack, raising his blade to block her. He pushed with his weight using the power of his legs to push the blades apart. As he did he then swung round to try and catch her off guard.

His attempt failed. Dhivael parried, and pulled herself back stepping to his left. "Nice try" she spat.

"No more dancing, lets fight"

He then swung with all his might from over his head the blade slashed down

Dhivael blocked his blade down her right side and swung upwards hoping that he would be late to pull back his weapon. All she had to do was draw blood.

As his blade was struck in defence he stepped to one side dodging her counter swing. As he stepped he swung round almost with his back to her and went for a blow to the back of the legs.

The Romulan dived forward pulling her blade around to glance off of her opponent's. Nothing else mattered at that moment; all she could think about was the fight.

Jason's smile had now gone. Standing there he snarled, then lunged forward. Striking to the left, then the right...then over the head, he knew if the over head shot was blocked he could pivot the blade to try and catch her face with the blade tip...if he was lucky he'd draw blood if not he'd at least unsettle Dhivael

Dhivael pulled back to the edge of the arena, the move was one that her first teacher had used a time or two. She swung back. Aimed at his opposite shoulder. nuts she realized her left arm was slightly too low. Only one of her skill would notice, but she knew pepper was just as good.

Jason was never one to let a weak spot go to waste, nor was he one to ease up during an attack. As soon as he noticed the unguarded area he swung and he swung hard. He knew it was unguarded now but wouldn’t be for long. He could only hope Dhivael was starting to tire.

Dhivael missed it, it had been nothing more then an easy mistake. but her weapon only caught 95% of the blow. It was nothing that would be fatal in any situation, and she would have been able to hit back and cut his legs out from under him, but she knew that it was enough to draw blood before it hit. She pulled herself back together. darn. She was upset. She should have been able to win. But yet he had drawn blood. That was all that was required. "Good match." she muttered.

Jason stepped back and looked at the blood on his blade, he looked up at Dhivael then bowed his head in respect.

"I am honoured to have fought against an opponent with such skill." He bowed his head once more then turned to present his blade for inspection by a judge

"Ja'so, head of the house of Pir'up Pa, draws first blood... Winner..."

The crowed roared and Jason stepped back and removed a small badge it was one of the logo's of his house, he moved towards Dhivael and presented it to her.

"You were beaten by an honest mistake, but you are a skilled warrior. I will be honoured to fight along side you in battle"

"and I you Colonel. It was well fought, and i look forward to meeting you again...  Good luck with the rest of your rounds. I look forward to watching you in finals." She bowed respectfully. Dhivael was deeply disappointed. Next year she resolved round four would be her goal.

Jason’s guard took the batletH and replaced it in the hall of honour, for now… Jason was still in the fight.
