Title: Q'olavraH and some puny Terran
Post by Q`olavraH on Feb 16th, 2005, 12:32am

Q'olavraH jogged into the large hall where the betleH competition was being held.  She had only left the brig a few moments before, being released on condition that she have a member of security with her at all times.

She barely had time to get to the ring.  She moved quickly to the wall and saw that her blade was not hung there, apparently K'rahl was late arriving too.

She moved to the wall of practice blades and began looking to see what there was hanging there.  She smiled as her finger traced the small writing on one of the betleH hanging there.  A list of the warrior who's blade this was, record of service to the Empire.

She reached up and took it down from where it hung and spun it once.  She had to exert extra force to keep it from spinning away from her.

She frowned and moved out to a practice area, for the few moments she had left before her match started.  She again spun the blade and caught it as it slapped to hard into her palm.

Why was K'Hare's blade so much heavier than normal.  It was even heavier than the old blade that had hung on the wall in her father's house that had been forged hundreds of years ago when it was not such an art and alloys were not used.

She swung the blade, and moved with it, letting it become an extension of her arms.  It really was not so different from when she was a small girl and the blade was to big and heavy for her.

She quickly stripped her armored vest off so that she was wearing only her undertunic and breeches and boots.  Her other weapons had been lost on the ship from the other universe.

Satisfied that she could weild it acceptably she moved to the ring and waited for her opponent.  And waited.  And waited.  And waited.

A terran male, a small puny looking thing came running in, practically dragging a betleH that was far to large and heavy for him after him.  "I uh.. uh.. uh.. well uh, my brother who was supposed to fight you is .. uh... "

The terran was visibly shaking as he looked up at Q'olavraH.  "He uh.. got sort of drunk and there were these 3 girls and ... " his skin turned an odd shade, darkening until she thought he might have gotten ill.  "I uh.. well the girls.. I have to fight you in his place..."

Q'olavraH  blinked.  There was no way she could fight this small timid male, yet she could not decline as that would mean she would forfeit and this person's brother would get to go on to the next round.  Many in the crowd were muttering, since many wanted to see the female who had won second last year in a match that was still being talked about.

Q'ol nodded, so indicate that she was ready, and then waited for the puny male to bring his blade up.  She would not even attempt to spar with this one, he might get hurt from the impact of blade on blade, no matter how careful she was.  She would find out who her real opponent was supposed to have been and deal with him later.. challenge him to spar with her so that she could see what sort of man sent such a weak being into a betleH ring for him.  She would punish the brother later.

Now she thought the little male was going to pass out from fear, so she gave him her best friendly smile (Klingons trying to smile in a friendly manner... not a pretty sight), and then she quickly hooked his blade with hers, gave a twist and a tug and disarmed him before he even knew what had happened.

He looked thankful, even glancing at himself to make sure there was no blood from that brief encounter.

Q'ol was declared the winner, and the crowd went away muttering among themselves.  The male picked up his brother's blade and trudged off quickly, dragging it behind him, clearly he did not want anything more to do with this tournament or the large scary Klingon lady.

Q'ol had no blade of her own, and so she decided that K'Hare's would suffice.  She was certain he would not grudge her it's use.  She would just have to get used to the extra weight of it.  Probably the colony where he came from ceated thier blades in that way.

She moved to the wall and hung K'Hare's blade where her's should have hung.  She wondered very briefly where K'rahl might be, but then her mind quickly moved to her own adventure, and she decided she should go and see where the girl was and what was happening with her.

But Q'ol does not win the award for posting in the right area...

Since this is a freebie match, it should be moved to the 'After Morning Rounds' area.
;D
