Taylor sat down at the desk in his room, a computer terminal rose from one corner of it. It flashed indicating a new message had arrived, the header on the message indicated it was from his Executive Officer. “Coffee, hot, white with 1 sugar” said Taylor, a mug appeared on the replicator pad to the right of him, picking it up he took a sip before playing the message.

Lieutenant Commander Horn appeared on the screen “Admiral, the Ambassador said I should let you know everything is under control on the Reagan” Horn sneered as he said the word Ambassador; Taylor wondered just how T’Val was getting under Horns skin.

“The Ambassador has taken over command of the ship in your absence, declaring this a diplomatic mission. I’ve tried reasoning with him but he’s not budging, please Admiral for the sake of my own sanity return to the Reagan on time. I’m not sure how much more of this I can take”

The comm. message ended as Horn received a message of his own from Ambassador T’Val.

Taylor chuckled; this was the first time Horn had ever had to deal with an Ambassador. Taylor himself had dealt with a few in his time, not always in the manner expected of a Star Fleet Officer.

Perhaps the time with T’Val would help season Horn and prepare him for his own command.
