I have had several people tell me they are having trouble contacting their opponent. I suggest that everyone contact their next opponent early. Make sure you can reach each other.

If you post a match with both players having significant actions and reactions, make sure both players have approved it. If you repeatidly post actions for others without their approval you may get disqualified from the tourney and refused entry in future years. The point of this 'joint mission' is to foster communication and interaction between characters.

I do understand that some people have had trouble contacting their opponents. This forum does have a PM system. Anyone attending should be able to use it, even if email is down. (If the forum goes down, we will know it and that can be handled.) If you can't reach your opponent you need to post something, the do it, but also post OOC that you couldn't reach them. If you can't check these forums at least once a day then realize that maybe being a combatant in this simm is not realistic. The rules next year will change to try and improve this.

Also remember my suggestion that the loser of the combat write the first draft of the contest. This allows everyone input and a chance for some creativity at this tournament.

I would like to add something to this for everyone to keep in mind as they work on their posts. The nature of the competition is that there can only be one winner each round. However, remember that IC, those competing are suppose to represent the top competitors around. They had to first be either their ship or starbase champion or still be good enough to qualify. Then to get to the next round (the NPC matches) they had to beat another skilled warrior.

My point is, no one in this tournament is a push over. That includes the NPCs. If you want to be realistic, each match should have its challenges. If you want to have at least one match where you are the clear winner, that's what the freebe match is for. But what fun is it to win every match without breaking a sweat?

There are many reasons I created this competition. But to be honest, The 1st thru 3rd place trophies and, to an extent, the honor award don't mean much in my book. It is the roleplaying awards that I think people should be aiming for. If you read all the posts you can see why it is a much harder award to win and something I think you can take much pride in if you earn it.

there is something worth aimimgn for and good roleplaying is one of them. i have read this forum. and their are some very rich and indept character. it a honor to even read some of these posting there that rich. as the first round of when threw iwas reads so post and was just left in aw.. than there were some post that had no meat to them... we do this cause it a creative out let. so let the juice flow and put your heart in to this cause it worth it in the end when people talk later about thing in other people posting, and they got the ideal done purfectly. ...one quick note sorry for my mispelling of grammer error i will try to do better my german kill my english at times.... ::)
