Title: Qa'Homoy Post by Q`olavraH on Feb 18th, 2005, 1:17am OFF: Continued from here: http://www.batlh.com/cgi-bin/betleHIII/YaBB.pl?board=Day1fd;action=display;num=1108608877;start=30 Q'olavraH watched her friend approach with his mug, and noted that the waitress had already seen him and so had added another mug of bloodwine to her tray before she came to the table. Q'ol tried to read her friend, but he was not letting anything show on his face, and even his eyes gave nothing away at this point in time. Perhaps after they all spoke a bit and relaxed she would be able to read him a bit better. She noticed the way wovqut tensed, as if ready to flee as K'Hare approached. Q'ol stood, and was gratified as the girl stood with her, though she did take a step closer to Q'olavraH, as if for protection. Q'ol felt rage blossom in her as a memory surfaced, but she fought it down and pushed the memory back. She could see that something had passed on her face by K'Hare's expression, but she gave her head a miniscule shake to tell him she would tell him later. He took the final steps toward the table and Q'ol put her hand on the girl's shoulder and gave it a slight squeeze of reassurance when she felt the fine tremble of nervousness in the girl. "K'Hare, this is wovqut. wovqut, this is K'Hare." She looked down at the girl and saw her studying K'Hare with wide eyed fascination. |
Title: Re: Qa'Homoy Post by K`Hare totlh on Feb 18th, 2005, 1:21am K'Hare sat down and stared at the little face staring back at him. In her face he saw his mother... which was odd because for years he'd been unable to recall her face and now it was so clear. And then he remembered the ears. "I suppose, Qa'Homoy, that you find my ears to be odd." |
Title: Re: Qa'Homoy Post by Q`olavraH on Feb 18th, 2005, 11:27am Q'olavraH smiled that K'Hare had called the girl an endearment so close to the one she herself had used. She was concentrating hard not to allow memories that were not her's to surface during this meeting, she had gained some small control over the rush of thoughts that at times overwhelmed her, but a picture of the other K'Hare and the other Q'ol flashed briefly in her mind, the other K'Hare holding a baby in his arms with such care and tenderness. wovqut very hesitantly reached out, leaning a bit forward. She tried very hard to control the fine tremor that wanted to shake her hand and fingers. She was encouraged when vavoy... no, when K'Hare leaned forward toward her across the table so she could run her fingers over the top of his ear. She laughed. "When I was a baby I would try to pull my ears to make them have points so I would look more like vavoy." Her other hand was now feeling the tops of her ears which had no point, just a slight little bend where a point would have been. "Mine are like yours. You have a little bend too." Q'olavraH watched the two of them with a smile. |
Title: Re: Qa'Homoy Post by K`Hare totlh on Feb 18th, 2005, 2:07pm K'Hare playfully rubbed her cheek being careful and deliberate so he didn't frighten her. "I suppose you need something to call me... and I think you are too young to call me by name. How about tennuS? That seems the most fitting word for now" |
Title: Re: Qa'Homoy Post by Q`olavraH on Feb 18th, 2005, 4:42pm The girl tilted her head into his hand and closed her eyes briefly, the fear leaving in that one gentle gesture from the Klingon who looked like her father. She gave K'Hare's ear one more gentle tweak. "tennuS," she leaned back and took a drink of the 'awje' she had been given and then she turned to look at Q'olavraH. "I will call you me'?" Q'ol nodded. "It seems fitting." She took a drink of her bloodwine and turned her dark eyes to K'Hare. "I believe the three of us have much to talk about. I have promised wovqut a home and I have told her she can decide where that home will be." Q'ol looked at the girl. "tennuS is yaS mochwI' of Klach D'kel Brakt, and I live on the planet there, unless I am doing things for him with the bortaS bIr." She looked back at K'Hare. |
Title: Re: Qa'Homoy Post by K`Hare totlh on Feb 18th, 2005, 6:37pm "Yes, little one. As I understand your history you were given little choice of futures. But here, you can be what you choose to be, what you are capable of being. Here, those of your age have already decided, or been told, what they will do. You have much catching up to do...", he smiled warmly, "but do not let it worry you. I was prevented for starting so early myself, I started much later than you and yet I have come far enough." K'Hare sat up and took a drink. "We will give you time to decide,” he waved at Q'ol, "and you could have no better guide." He considered for a moment. He had something to say, a concern, and while it could wait until the child was not present, he didn't want rash decisions to create disappointment. He decided to be as cryptic as possible. "One great advantage of life on KDB is that shields can be modified to prevent any sort of transport." He gave Q'ol an expression meant to convey the seriousness of his words and quickly turned it into a set of humorous expressions that made the child laugh. |
Title: Re: Qa'Homoy Post by Q`olavraH on Feb 19th, 2005, 12:50am Q'olavraH was delighted with how K'Hare was handling this situation, and the child. At first she wasn't sure how he would handle it, but now she knew that when some be' caught her best friend that he would be a wonderful father. "The station is probably the wisest course for the time being, and if you feel as if you want to go to the planet we can make unscheduled visits for hunting and whatever else I would suppose?" She made it a question for K'Hare to answer. The girl sipped from her glass and then made a squinty look as if she was deep in thought. "I will do whatever you decide." She gave K'Hare an earnest look. "I do know that until I've been able to see things I do not want to go back there..." She tensed, and Q'ol put an arm around her shoulders. "We will not allow anything to happen to you." She reassured the girl giving her shoulder a squeeze. Khoal had died so this little one could live a better life. It had been an honorable death and Q'olavraH would kill anyone who tried to hinder this child from finding her life here. |
Title: Re: Qa'Homoy Post by K`Hare totlh on Feb 19th, 2005, 4:26pm "In our world, you are considered old enough to start making decisions for yourself, though I have known those who would only allow the right decision to be made." He laughed and took a drink. "We will let you see our universe, and then, once you are informed, if you feel the need to go back we will do what we can to make that happen. But for now, you have the right attitude. Stay long enough at least to understand this place and remember, I will make no decisions for you. When you want to leave, if you want to do something I would not choose for you, it is all your decision. I just hope my fine example helps you make the right choice." He drank as if the words he just spoke were a toast. "Now, lets order some food. What do you like?" K'Hare was pleased with some of her choices but some were not what he would have selected. He had given her the option though, so that ordered the child's Klingon and romulan favorites. |
