Title: Sickbay? Post by Verghese Siminway on Feb 20th, 2005, 2:14am Verghese did not know how long had passed when his vision started fading back. The pain in his side was gone, but he had this strange buzzing sound in his ears. All around him he could hear people running about and talking, but none were near him. Groaning a bit, he tried to get up, but couldn't as he was restrained by something above him chest. Opening up his eyes to the cieling above him, he looked down to see what was restraining him. It was a bio-scanner that covered nearly his entire body. Pushing against it did little use, at least, with his left hand side. Using the cybernetic arm, he simply used all the strength to push the scanner up and aside, just enough to allow him to get up. This immediately caught the attention of the medical staff nearby. <tag XFY sickbay people> |

Dr. Culshaw looked up from reading another patient's chart on a PADD. She walked over to Verghese, trying to comfort him. "Sir, I need you to calm down. You're in the infirmary and you're going to be here for a few days." She nodded to the nurse, reading her mind, as she handed over a hypospray with a paralytic. Injecting the medication into his neck, the cyborg was unable to move for the time being. Culshaw turned to the nurse. "He has a punctured liver that's going to take some time to drain and heal. He'll be congested with fluids, so make sure the drain is operating and give him 2 mg/kg Lasomine every four hours. He should be up again in about six hours, so come find me then. The Doctor went back to other duties she had--it's been quite busy and the bag of sawdust had not been opened just yet. OFF (Go ahead an send me an IM if you want to do a jp. Make sure you identify who you are first--I have a habit of ignoring people.) |

Title: Re: Sickbay? Post by Verghese Siminway on Feb 21st, 2005, 8:02am OOC: well, since you rejected the IM request, I guess this is off then. IIRC, Verghese isn't going to sit still, and in 6 hours time, you'll be seeing him gone. |

Title: Re: Sickbay? Post by Verghese Siminway on Feb 21st, 2005, 8:24pm OOC: Time for the great escape :) IC: It was about 5 hours later that Verghese finally regained conciousness. Although he was still unable to his left arm or leg much, he could still at least open his eyes and think. Remembering what the MO had said earlier, he cursed internally. Stuck in sickbay for days? Hell no! Not when he had so many things to do and all the matches to watch. But then, he had also heard about the punctured liver. But still, days? He couldn't afford to stay here that long. Looking down, he realized that the darn bio-scanner was still on him, pretty much penning him in. "Sir, you're going to have to sit still, this shouldn't last too much longer." A voice to his right spoke. "Draining is almost complete, just a minute or two." it continued. Looking to the right, he noticed it was a nurse, and she was configuring something on the bio-scanner. "That doctor...what was she saying? That I will be here for days?" Verghese asked, trying to see if he could move a bit. "Yes. Although the procedure is almost complete, we need you to stay for observation. Now stay still or this will just take longer!" Although he understood the need for observation, he simply just couldn't sit still while someone watched him like that. For the moment though, he did sit still till the medic finished whatever she was doing. Once she was done, she moved back. "There, all done. I've patched up the skin and you should be allright now. However, we're going to keep you here for ob- hey! What do you think your doing?" She remarked as Verghese pushed the Bio-scanner up, again with his mechanical arm. Getting up slowly to avoid causing too much pain to the injured side. Looking at the medic, he simply nodded. "Well, thank you for the operation, and the free medical care is appreciated, but I can't afford to sit here for days. If it's just observation then I'll make sure to let you know if something goes wrong." The nurse sighed. Obviously she had seen many cases like this before. Rather than argue, she just handed him a hypospray. "At least take this medication once a day. If ANYTHING goes wrong, make sure to come back here immediately. Avoid bloodwine and alcoholic drinks, eat plenty of real food and just generally keep healthy." Verghese simply nodded and accepted the hypospray. Rather than stay around and risk having the MO show up, he moved out as fast as possible, unsure where to go. |
