Title: Kieran vs Reynolds
Post by Kieran O`Donnell on Feb 22nd, 2005, 10:28pm

Kieran entered contest area dressed in his Imperial Intel uniform, all black, and wearing his House's emblemn on his left arm. That was the only marking to show any information about him. He carried his batleH comfortably in his right hand.

He took some time to warm up, and get comfortable with his weapon. It was very close to his previous one, but that had been destroyed on the SuDqul along time ago. This blade was also from the House. He had taken it with him when he had taken his leave of his Son. That amused him in some way, that his Son was his Lord, but that was the way of things, Giobhnie was Lord of the House of Komar, as a klingon, even a half-klingon, he had more right to lead the House then a Human did, and woman were not allowed to lead Houses, except for very specific circumstances, and Giobhnie's situation did not qualify Aryn to run the House.

As he finished his warm up routine, he checked the chrono on the wall to make sure he had time, and then made his way from the practice ring to the actual competition ring, where he was to meet Captain Charlie Reynolds, Commander of the USS Coral Sea. Kieran had again used his security clearance to pull as much information as he could about Captain Reynolds. Reynolds was quite decorated an officer, and was allied to the House of Martok. He was also the son of Admiral Marcus Reynolds and had a brother named David. Also, from his profile, he seemed to have a fascination with guns and other weapons. So, Kieran was making sure he knew his techniques, to be prepared for anything.

So, it came as a surprise when a Xavier Station Security Officer came into the competition area carrying a PADD, and handed it to the judge for the match with Kieran and Reynolds.

The referee waved Kieran to his place, and said, after the Engineer stood there, batleH in hand, "By default, the winner of the match of Lt. Commander Kieran O'Donnell and Captain Charlie Reynolds goes to Commander O'Donnell."

Robbed!!!! Kieran was robbed yet again of honorable combat in the ring. This was twice now. He was getting pissed off, did these humans not understand the purpose of this competition. He hoped that his next opponent would be Klingon, so that he would be assured combat.

Kieran bowed to the referee and made his way back to the Wall of Honor, to place his blade in its new home, for the time being, but at least he would not have to wait long to find out whom his next opponent would be.

(NOTE: See this thread to find out why Captain Reynold's wasn't at this match: http://www.batlh.com/cgi-bin/betleHIII/YaBB.pl?board=Day1fe;action=display;num=1108704551;start=0#13. Also, Vice Admiral Valren Arelwynn authorized me to complete this post, since I wasn't able to get in touch with my opponent to write out the actual combat.)

Note to self: include a clause in the gambling rules allowing me to call off all bets on a match if one of the fighters doesn't show. I lost way too much latinum because the fool Reynolds got himself arrested.

OFF:

No worries my Ferengi friend, the rolls showed Reynolds losing anyway.
