Valren had changed out of his uniform and into civilian garb in the hopes of not attracting too much attention. He hoped he'd find the young woman he'd met in the lift the night before (or was it too nights? -- he'd been too busy to keep track).

Though she was spoken for he thought, and hoped, that she might have some friends. Life since his arrival at Xavier has proven to be rather dull indeed.

He sat down at the bar and ordered himself a glass of bourbon on ice. His eyes wondered the room and his mind 'listened' for the feelings of either a familiar woman or one equally as young and attractive.

ON:

Walking into the Legion after hours since she wasn't able to sleep Sajida yawned a little as she headed for the bar asking for a Samarian Sunset. She had changed into a black pants and tossed on a light blue short sleeved tshirt since she felt like a change from the previous jeans and pink shirt she had slept in for an hour or so.

Kira was on her mind a lot since she was so sure that Kira would have been victorious and at dinner time she seemed somewhat disappointed yet glad she held onto her honor. If it was Sajida maybe she would have done things differently but then again she wasn't the same person she was a year ago.

The bartender brought her back the drink prepared and she pinged the glass herself. He smiled at the swirling of colors. Before drinking she noticed someone had been sitting next to her all this time. She turned to him and looked at him oddly. Sajida knew his face yet couldn't think of where she met him.

"This may seem a trifle odd but don't I know you from somewhere?" she asked the man

Valren was half startled as he'd been staring at his drink and taking in the feelings of others throughout the establishment.

He looked up and turned and it turned out it was a small base after all. It was the very person who had recommended this establishment and the one he'd hoped to see.

Arelwynn: *smiling* Valren Arelwynn. I filled in for your legs not too long ago...

"Excuse me!!??" Sajida blurted out while turning her entire body to him and coming up face to face with Valren "I really hope you are not trying to get on my bad side" she added with a stern look on her face

Valren then immediately answered her

Arelwynn: *sensing her anger* Now now, please calm down. You stumbled into a turbolift I was riding and I helped you to your quarters.

"Oh! Then pardon my actions and forgive me" Sajida answered humbly "You most certainly caught me way off guard. So that's where I have seen you before" she said while trying to remember the meeting. "Ah! Yes the fluffy coat! and you took my advice too it seems"

She smiled at him and took a drink of the Samarian Sunset while he spoke.

He laughed, "Indeed I did. And this is a pretty good bourbon. Good call.

"So," he continued, "despite being engaged, I am pretty darn surprised you'd be here all alone, what's your excuse?"

"See told you that you would enjoy it here in the bar and my excuse is that I couldn't miss the tournament and he is rather bogged down with work on the Excalibur. I really did not want to leave him behind but I had some people to see again here and to invite them to the wedding" she said then turning a little red "It was hard telling him goodbye for a few days"

"I still cant believe its happening and im getting too excited its coming up..." she then went all dreamy eyed and then caught herself. "Well then enough of my ranting on! How are you doing? And how was that holowinter you had" Sajida smiled while drinking her Sunset

"It was really cold, but nice. Good chance to clear the head."

He sat up a bit straighter and leaned in.

"My question to you though is, a nice looking girl usually has nice looking friends," he chuckled. "Are they single and where can I find them?"

Sajida couldnt help but smile at his request and how he presented it and she answered "Well they are scattered around but mainly on the USS Excalibur in TF93 there are lots of my good looking friends there." she said while nudging him with her elbow "And maybe a few at this tournament depending on how cute a girl you are looking for"

He laughed a loud belly laugh. "I suppose it all depends, I like them exotic and unique."

"Mmmm well if you ever find yourself on the Excalibur there are a few of them around" she said with a wink "But surely there must be some around a fleet yard like this! Maybe you haven't looked hard enough"

Finishing her drink she then had the bartender get her another while she spoke to Valren.

He chuckled again, "Indeed, but I've not yet had the time and you caught my eye," he winked at her. "As for the Excalibur, when she next needs to put into port for repair, perhaps you might recommend Xavier. We have a very good facility you know."

Smiling she responded to Valren "I'll make sure to suggest it to my commanding officer we are somewhat prone to battles of late."

Sajida yawned a little but she didn't feel tired in the least bit as her drink was keeping her up. "So I have caught your eye eh, it is not the first time"

He smirked, "That you did, I'm sure it isn't the first time something like that has happened."

"Oh there are many stories I can tell you...."she said while she took yet another drink "Now then why are you up so late? Surely the commander of the station must have work to do in the morning"

"That is the prime advantage of being CO. There is only work when you say so," he smiled. "I need a little bit of time to unwind. I was just assigned as CO here a few hours before the tournament began. It has been madness."

"Ahh no wonder you need that bourbon! But it is a given I guess when one assumes command, the first few days are hectic. Where were you stationed before?" she asked

"Mmm intresting but change is nice once in a while...oh and I also had a question for you maybe you know of him since he does work here. Do you know one Loj Hartson? I have been looking for him since I came as I heard he fought rather dishonorably at his first and last match and.. well... as a friend I am concerened for him. The Loj I know would never fight that way."

He pondered a moment, "Loj Hartson is one of my department heads but, as ridiculous as this sounds, I've not yet met him in person."

Sajida laughed and put an arm over Valren's shoulders shaking him a little "Ah your too much Valren! I guess maybe i'll get lucky and bump into him around here before I leave." Realizing she just laughed from his comment she put her drink down on the bar and propped herself up on the bar with her elbow.

"Thanks for the laugh by the way, today hasn't been all that great with a few of my friends losing their matches and some personal problems they are going through, minus Ta'pez of course. I had a feeling he would win. I haven't smiled a lot today and well that was possibly one of the few you just gave me"

"I'm glad to help," he grinned before drinking the last of his Bourbon. "I'm glad to have seen you again, hopefully it won't be the last time. I should probably head off to bed. Busy day, as always, tomorrow being the big cheese."

Valren polished off the rest of his bourbon and told the bartender to send him the bill later as he was looking at bit tired

"Have a good sleep Valren and make sure you dont end up sleepwalking back here for another glass of whatever that is you were drinking" Sajida said while raising one eyebrow since the drink didn't look so appealing to her.

She waved him good bye and turned herself back around watching the bartender clean up behind the bar and preparing a few drinks for the people left in the Legion.
