Maybe I'll just abstain and bet on K'Tar or Tal'Vur and then bet on the winner of the above pair against whichever of those two gets to the finals.

but the truth is, if you wanted to be realistic, not everyone would start with 500 slips, because different people have different amounts of money..

And I don't remember my Ferengi exchange rates, but I don't think 500 slips is even a BAR of latinum. And I am sure Ness has a few BARS laying around.
