Title: Tal'vur vs K'Tar Post by KTar on Feb 24th, 2005, 5:11pm K'Tar took a deep breath as he lifted his Bat'leth from the Wall of Honor. He would be facing a Starfleet doctor, a human/vulcan by the name of James Tal'vur. K'Tar stepped into the ring as he gathered his strength for the coming battle. K'Tar slowly began to twirl his Bat'leth, warming his arms up and imagining the weapons as a part of his body than an actual weapon. He waited for his opponent to appear. James creeped around the corner of the doorway to the competition arena, peering both left and right to ensure the coast was clear. When he verified that it was he strode over to the Wall of Honor and looked at the brackets yet again. He was still amazed that he had lasted as long as he has and he was hoping to last a little longer. He reached up and pulled his bat'leth off the wall and ran his hand across the smooth metal. Somehow, things just seemed better when he was either in sickbay or holding his weapon, something most people would find a strange stretch. He noticed his opponent, a largeish Klingon, warming up in the ring. James casually strolled over to him and took his position across the ring from the klingon. "Name is James, nice to be able to face you," he said, taking a curt bow to his opponent. "I am K'Tar, Son of M'Rok. I look forward to this battle, human." K'Tar nodded. "What shall be the conditions of the fight?" James thought about it. He wasn't partial do a disarm, but at the same time he didn't want to risk the chance of waking up in a strange sickbay... "How about to first blood, not quite as easy as a disarm but not nearly as risky as a knockout, sound equitable to you?" All of K'Tar's battles had been knockout and he was expecting the same but was both surprised and not when the human wanted first blood. Most Starfleet didn't enjoy the idea of fighting until a knockout, unlike Klingons. "Very well." The beginning of the match soon sounded. K'Tar began to circle Tal'vur, keeping his Bat'leth at lower chest level, ready to strike or parry. James matched the steps of K'Tar, the two moving in a circle and yet maintaing a comfortable distance. James made a quick cursory jab at K'Tar, testing his defenses. K'Tar easily parried the blow. Either this human was testing him, or he was a poor fighter. K'Tar chose the former as the human had made it quite far in the tournament. K'Tar then quickly countered with a standard slash attack. James blocked the blow, which carried considerable force. As he did he looked at the stands and the few observers who had gathered. He quickly scanned their faces while taking a quick and low swing at K'Tar's knees. K'Tar jumped back as the blade passed just under K'Tar's feet. K'Tar side-stepped and moved in again, swinging in a diagonal attack. James was forced to step around K'Tar to avoid the attack as he brought the weapon back up to the level of his chest. He took a quick swing at K'Tar's side, hoping to do some damage and perhaps end this before James lost his opportunity. K'Tar flipped tha Bat'leth horizontal with the blade facing outwards connecting with Tal'vur's blade and sent out a side kick at Tal'vur AideonOfAesir: James took the kick and was knocked down to the mat. He quickly rolled back away from K'Tar and took to his feet. This match was not at all what he had expected, and he was definately not on top of his skills today. K'Tar pressed his attack as he swung again in an overhead attack. James quickly stepped out of the way and took the opportunity to make a swing at K'tar's shoulder. Things were going from bad to worse... aaronlee1977: K'Tar dipped his shoulder as the blade glanced off of his armor and K'Tar spunt to face Tal'vur completely and attacked with a side slash. James was caught off guard and stepped forward enough so that he woulnd't lose him arm. He knew he had been out-classed and out-manuvered and things were only going to get worse as his muscles had started to burn. The blade ripped through the fabric of his uniform and left quite a sizeable gash in his upper arm and creating quite a flow of blood. James managed to cling to his weapon with his arm and clapped his hand over the top of the wound, smiling weakly at K'Tar. "Just not my day, I guess." K'Tar nodded. "I suppose not," K'Tar said as he lowered his weapon and the end of the match sounded. A well fought match, human." K'Tar then gave the traditional Klingon Salute, and turned, heading out of the arena. |
