Ing looked up as the computer bleeped at him. He had been reading up on parallel dimensional theory in a small science lab that K'Hare had arranged for him to have access to, and had lost track of the time. The afternoon matches were about to begin. Ing needed a break, so he saved his place and set his viewscreen to watch the broadcast of the matches. Realizing he hadn't eaten that day, he ordered a spicy peanut butter with jerky from the replicator and sat down to watch the highly skilled competitors face each other with betleHs.

Ing watched Q'olavraH's match with particular interest. Somehow, her betleH seemed slower than he remembered, giving credence to his theory that she suffered some ill effects in the other world which slowed her reactions. But she also seemed distracted, and was not performing as he had expected.

The viewpoint swept around, showing the fighters from all sides. Suddenly Ing sat bolt upright. He stopped the broadcast and played back through the past few seconds in slow motion. Playing it through twice that way, he forgot about watching the match, and began issuing instructions to the computer. Instead of watching the match, he started watching the crowd, an idea forming in his head.

If he was right… Ing paused the screen again and sat back, thinking through the implications. A few moments later, he was sending out messages to several people. If what he suspected were correct… well, checking it out would be the hard part.
