Title: "Music" - if you can call it that
Post by Ing The Puny on Feb 25th, 2005, 7:31pm

"Heart cold as a Breen!
The hottest woman that I -
Ever Seen!"

The lyrics blared out, swamping Ing's room with noise. He had been told that this music was supposed to be played 'painfully loud', and this certainly sufficed, even if the music itself seemed more painful than the volume of the sound.

"Lips as sweet as a -
Sugar Pop!
I fell for her like an -
Orbit Drop!"

Ing wasn't really sure why he had let the vendor on the station sell him these music chips. He supposed he had wanted some sort of souvenir from his visit to the Federation station, and K'Hare had taught him to study other cultures in hopes of understanding them.

"She took me round and round -
And back again!"

Ing was equally unsure why this particular ancient Earth musical tradition was called 'Metal-Hair Band'. From the images in the 'music video', their hair - while appearing quite unnatural - certainly wasn't made of metal. But for some reason the shop-keeper had seemed to think the Klingon would like it.

"Heart cold as a Breen!
The hottest woman that I -
Ever Seen!"

Ing couldn't even make sense of the lyrics. If the woman had a heart cold as a Breen, then how could she be, at the same time, hot?

"She had me racing -
At Warp Nine!
Then she told me -
Take my time!"

Ing pondered - according to the shopkeeper, names of 'Metal-Hair Bands' were supposed to represent something horrific. However, it seemed that the music by this band, Warp Core Breeches, was what was horrible. Ing hoped the other chip he had bought - by a band called Plague of Tribbles - would be more entertaining. Or at least tolerable.

Part of the joke is that, as the song Tal'Vur is referring to says, Klingons "Look like heavy metal rockers from the dead..."

Which is why the shopkeeper thought Ing - looking like an adolescent Klingon - would like "Metal-Hair Band" music.

The truly sad part: Yes, thers is a tune for "Heart Cold as a Breen". It sounds close to something AC/DC would play. And I've got it stuck in my head...

As I was reading that post I had the tune for "Shook Me All Night Long" that I was singing for the lyrics.. it just seemed to fit..

AC/DC.. ROCKS!

I'm giggling now and can't stop.
