Title: K'tar vs. Kieran
Post by KTar on Feb 26th, 2005, 1:05pm

K'Tar was filled with hatred from his brother being killed by the House of Breml and with having to face this dishonorable fighter named Kieran.  The Arena was growing quickly in size as K'Tar stood in the shodows at the rear of the Arena.  He knew what must be done in order to teach this human a lesson but some may not understand why he will do what he must.  Others would.  K'Tar bowed his head in deep thought but the anger kept growing in side him.  Soon, the Championship match was announced and K'Tar pushed himself across the room to the Wall of Honor and lifted his Bat'leth off the wall and stepped onto the Arena.  "Where is that human petaq?!" K'Tar roared.

I moved and renamed  this because it seemed more a setup to the match than an interlude well before it.

"That human petaq is here, K'Tar Sogh, Son of M'rok!" Kieran said, grinning, loud enough for the Klingon to hear, as he entered the arena from the shadows, his batleH resting against his right shoulder.

"Let's see if you are any better then your HoD?" As he walked into the ring, K'Tar noticed that the human wore an Imperial Intelligence uniform, which was identical to a KDF uniform, except that it was all black, with no silver or any other color. Also, there were no rank of house insignia traditionally on it, though in this case, Kieran did wear the crest of the House of Komar on his left, upper arm.

Kieran knew that wearing the uniform alone would get some of the crowd against him, but he could not lie about who he was, even while on the Tomar, he was a willing and loyal agent of the Klingon Imperial Intellgence.

K'Tar snarled at the human in disgust.  "I am suprised you showed, human."  K'Tar spun the bat'leth in his hands, keeping his eyes fixed on Kieran.  "Pick the conditions of the match, human!?"

Post by Falco_Tauvits on Feb 27th, 2005, 11:19am

"Somebody's angry," Tauvits mused to himself as he settled himself fairly near the arena to watch the match. O'Donnell had received a fair amount of flak for his fighting style so far from many, including Tauvits himself, and so he was interested in seeing how K'Tar would handle this fight. From their fight several rounds ago, he knew K'Tar to at least present an honest front, though he had met warriors who had fought more than he beyond the necessary realms of fairness - G'Trell, the previous year, had truly shamed him in their match. Still, he expected K'Tar to at least put on a display for them, and maybe best O'Donnell and show him that winning within the rules was possible.

Still, the big Klingon was obviously very angry as the prelude to the match ambled along. It didn't seem that he would be putting O'Donnell to shame with his behaviour, at least. The human had seen the decency to act respectfully to his opponents outside of the fight, to a degree; K'Tar, here, was just descending into insults.

Tauvits couldn't help but shake his head disapprovingly. It wasn't even slightly sportsmanlike to throw out insults and make the match personal. Granted, O'Donnell was replying, but his answers were mild in comparison and he had clearly decided to take insults in stride and maybe even taunt as a response.

He sighed as he folded his arms across his chest, eyes narrowed to observe the fight. It didn't look as if this was going to be any cleaner than last year's final.

"Mind if I sit here?" So'l asked as he settled in next to Tauvits, not waiting for an answer. He was slightly flustered, as if he were embarrised to be there. His attendance had come after a long and bitter dispute with himself.

"Not at all! Grab a pew, kid." Tauvits gestured openly to the seat next to him, his thoughtful expression being replaced rather rapidly with a disarming grin. "Wasn't sure I'd see you around and about after the amount you were drinking the other night. Then again, I guess the Klingon in you means you can stomach more than I'd be able to. Still, good to see you got it out of your system."

Tauvits shifted to face the arena again, his tone light but with it quite clear he wasn't talking about purging alcohol from the system. Still, he didn't press. "Now, this should be an interesting fight, I'm thinking. K'Tar's no schmuck, he took me down in the second round, the pesky blighter. But O'Donnell's had uncanny success this year. And K'Tar's darned angry. If O'Donnell can take advantage of that, he might just win. I mean, he's got to have something going for him beyond just bending the rules if he could take down Q'olavraH and Ta'pez, right?"

Title: Re: K'tar vs. Kieran
Post by So`l Mackenzie on Feb 27th, 2005, 4:35pm

"He took down Qol and Tapez?" So'l asked in some suprise. He hadn't paid attention to the rest of the tournament after his loss, and had been expecting one of those two to be in the finals. "He must be something special."

Once he started talking about the match itself, and stopped focusing on the fact he was actually there, So'l felt himself become more comfortable, more at ease with himself.

"Fights vicious. Like each one's a real thing. Smart of him, but the judges don't like it. Nor do the crowds. I think all of the meH'Haj are out for his blood." Tauvits nodded towards where a lot of the crew of the Klingon ship were gathered, most of their eyes fixed on K'Tar.

"Loyalty's an admirable trait, but blinding. I do hope K'Tar gets a grip on his anger, or this fight could become rather... nasty."

K'rahl Son of Kur'rk...

K'rahl overheard the conversation between S'ol and Tauvits and decided to sit with them.  He was accompanied by Kur'rk and his cousins.

"Kieran is a good warrior.  He was my Chief of Intel on the Hegh leng.  We have fought alongside each other in battle.  The two of us were cut off from the rest of the crew, and that of the meH'Haj, on a Borg Sphere once."

He sat, indicating that K'jut, Kagh and Ka'mar'Ka should sit behind.

"Tauvits," he said in a tone that showed some amount of respect, though how much was unclear.  "Your choice in companion is better for this match."

He looked at S'ol, "You lost to a Romulan this year?"

Tauvits returned the nod to K'rahl. The man fought well, and had a very solid reputation in the circles Tauvits had taken a look at. He'd never really spoken to him, but there was a first time for everything.

He smiled a little at the comment, knowing he'd landed himself somewhat in the middle of internal Klingon semi-political workings. "My companions just seem to keep choosing me. Good for you to join us, 'ech," he said neutrally, not responding to the comment regarding Ta'pez, just as he had never responded to Ta'pez's slights against K'Hare beyond the guardedly neutral.

Q'olavraH sat with wovqut as close behind where the judges were seated as they could get.

The girl was clearly excited and couldn't keep still in her seat.  The energy of the child infected Q'olavraH as well.

She wished the combatants would quit trading insults and begin the fight.  She had placed a large wager on Kieran, but truth be told, she didn't really care who won, as long as the fight was a good one and there would be lessons in it for the girl.

M'Rek came in to watch the battle and cheer K'Tar on.  He was just as angry at the human's dishonorable tactics just to win the match.  As he came in on the wrong balcany he spoted the Blue Man he had meet earlier with a group of Klingons with him.

He approached the man and waited until had attention.  "I do not belive I caught your name the other night at the bar.  I am M'Rek.  I am not interupting anything am I?"  He asked as he looked at the other Klingons one appeared to be of high stature.

ON:

G'Trell and Sajida walked on into the arena after changing into well needed clean clothes, while the announcers introduced the finalist he awaited for them to decide what kind of match it would be. Sajida pulled G'Trell along into one of the balconies overlooking the fighting area. This was new for Sajida since she loved getting ringside seats.

G'Trell and her managed to get seats at the end of the balcony for a good overhead look then she managed to catch sight of M'Rek sitting a few seats away from them with Tauvits, Q'olavraH of whom she remembered from last years tournament and a few other proud looking Klingons.

"Well seems we will have to speak to them later since the match is about to begin. We shall see if this dishonorable Kieran will be beaten this night!" she said while G'Trell phased in and out looking at M'Rek.

Sajida smiled and kept looking on waiting for the match to begin since the roaring of the crowd got her even more excited and before long she'd be cheering herself.

Even before the match started, Verghese was already seated and paying rapt attention, not only to the fighters and the comments that were flying about, but to the members of the crowd as well.

This was going to be one hell of a match, and everyone had turned up to watch it, upto and including the blue man he had seen talking to K'hare yesterday. Towards one side, he could see Q'ol sitting down. Fortunately, for the moment, T'lai looked nowhere to be seen.

thank god for small favours he thought to himself.

He simply looked on as more people he knew of came in front and sat down around Tauvits. Then K'hral came in and started talking to him and So'l as well. Now this was surprising, to say the least. Verghese hadn't seen the old commander in a long time (other than at the bar yesterday), in fact, it had actually been since K'hare took over.

Taking advantage of a pause in the conversation, Verghese leaned forward a bit and spoke up above the crowd, trying to catch K'hral's attention.

"It's been a long time boss, too long indeed. How goes life away from KDB?" He asked, giving a slight bow of greeting.

K'rahl looked round at Verghese.

"Things go well." he lied, "I have returned to the service of the Empire, my cousin Milpang has taken my place in the Exchange Program."

He grined, a more convincing grin than a Federation polotician could manage but it was still hiding the truth.

I will be surface side at KDB after this competition, spending some time at the K'brd'Lok Compound outside Capital City.

Ta'pez and his party arrived late.  His day had not gone well. He had lost against kieran and won against Talvur.

Even with that victory he had not felt great. With the tournament at its close he had a lot of worries. There was no good news. Kierran had cheated him out of his victory, another betrayal, for he knew that Kierran had not known of his fighting style until recently.

What was more troublesome was the fact that the House elders would convene, and him having lost the champion ship meant that he was in a weakened position. There would be questions, questions he didn't want asnwered.

However all of that didn't matter at the moment. He was here to watch K'Tar win, he needed his weHwI' CO to win,  the dishonor brought upon him would be less.

He had spoken to K'Tar earlier, his weHwI' Commander felt confident of wining. Ta'pez had asked for a small favor and the weHwI' CO had obliged.

Now seated among his house Ta'pez was opening his gift and lettining the exicitement of the arena take him over.

Putting his own strength into it, Kieran blocked his strike, positioning himself to absorb the force of the batleH that K'Tar was weilding. As he shoved off and made his own attack, a low swing coming in on the Klingon's lower left abdomen, he commented, "Oh, you'll find that I am not afraid of battle, or you. I've known smarter gagh then you, and didn't want you to worry about having to try and figure out how to knock me out." Kieran grinned and chuckled, and pressed on in his attack against the Klingon.

Sajida looming over the balcony edge to get a better look she saw K'tar swung his bat'leth right for Kieran with rage as he yelled. Kieran easily deflecting this threw him back and quickly went for K'tar's lower half for a quick blow to knock him over.

Sajida voiced her displeasement with Kieran's actions as K'tar stumbled a touch back to regain his balance. She nearly thought Kieran would have forced the bat'leth out of his hand for a moment with that kind of unexpected move.

Gripping his batleH tighter, Kieran took the brunt of the blow, but twisted so it would do the least amount of damage, and went down. Expecting that K'Tar would not hold out any stops, Kieran decided not to either, and got himself back up on his feet and got himself into position.

After setting himself up, Kieran began to use the "dance" fighting style of Ta'pez against the meH'Haj's own weHwI' CO. Kieran expected that the warrior would be furious because a human was mocking his CO, and hopefully, K'Tar would make a mistake that Kieran could utilize to his advantage.

Sajida and G'Trell both cheered at K'tar locking his bat'leth with Kieran's and the two both pushing their weight on each other to see who would cave in first. Then K'tar took a kick at Kieran's knee.

"Ha!" she said off to G'Trell slapping her shoulder "Now he know's how it feels!" G'Trell had a good chuckle as they watched the fight progress.

Kieran fell down hard from the kick still holding onto his weapon and managing to get back up on his feet before K'tar could go at him again. They both began circling the ring and the crowds all began roaring loud and most of the people on the balconies were on their feet.

K'Tar's anger boiled over as he fought to control his rage at seeing this human mock his HoD's style, yet he knew from his expierence in the Dominion War to not act out of anger.  In order to win, he knew he would have to channel his anger into his fighting, not into a blind rage.  K'Tar and Kieran circled each other.  K'Tar feigned an attack but then spun to the right on his heel, hoping to catch the human off guard as he sent an upwards attack at Kieran's side.

Kieran saw K'Tar spin to the right, and Kieran easily dodged the attack and countered with one of his own, deciding that if K'Tar was going to use some of the techniques that were not appropriate for a tournament, then Kieran would reciprocate in kind. Kieran's attack came downwards, aimed to hit K'Tar's batleH near where he was gripping it.

"Perhaps his position warrants such tactics" Ta'pez said playing the devils advokate.

"Do not play with me Ta'pez" Separ growled. "You know yourself they are acting improperly."

"True but..." Separ retorted obviously strugling with the complexity of it all.

"Exactly, right now the two of them dont realize the consequenses they are chosing."

"The heat of battle is know to fog a warriors mind." Ta'pez continued.

The crowd roared as each of the opponents continued to use dishonest moves against the other, neither was fighting honourably. Kieran had no where to go when K'Tar sent his right hook, and it took Kieran in the head. Holding onto his batleH for dear life, Kieran let himself fall to the ground and then rolled away, still holding his weapon. He got back up slowly, his head ringing from the force of the blow, and his vision was blurring ever so slightly. Another blow like that however, and the human II operative would be seeing double.

Kieran needed time, time to let his body heal a bit, to lower the ringing in his ears, and let his eyes be able to focus better. Unfortunately, time was not on his side, and he knew this. this battle would be over in a short amount of time, and it appeared that unless a miracle happened, Kieran would be the loser. Deciding to forget the mimicing and insulting, Kieran concentrated on the basics and pressed the offensive again, using the standard (and approved) moves that he was first taught by his deceased father-in-law many years ago, hoping that his change in tactics would throw off the Klingon, as his mimicing and trying to get K'Tar angry and unfocus did not.

Some of the crowd responded favourably to his change, others still boo'ed him. Kieran cared not, as he was at this point trying to stay focused enough to concentrate, as K'Tar's blow most likely concussed him.

Kieran pressed on, attacking and blocking, countering K'Tar, looking for an advantage to disarm the Klingon.

Kieran barely blocked the attack, his concussion getting worse, but replied, "I am just as much a warrior as you, K'Tar, just because I serve the Empire in a different way then you do, does not make me less truer a warrior."

Kieran continued to attack, foregoing the dishonourable techniques in favour of honourable ones.

Kieran swung at K'Tar, going to catch the other's blade, to twist it out of his hands when K'Tar blocked, and the blades connected. Both warriors twisted, trying to force the other to let go, when suddenly, Kieran's grip slipped, his hands covered in sweat, and his batleH slid out of his hands.

Knowing that he lost the tournament, Kieran acted quickly and stepped back, to prevent K'Tar from finishing his move and causing Kieran any more physical damage. Kieran stepped back and placed himself into a defensive position, in case K'Tar ignored the judge and continued fighting.

The judge stepped into the ring, inbetween the two competitors and spoke, loud enough for everyone to hear, "This Match and the Championship goes to K'Tar, Son of M'rok, of the House of M'rok!"

M'Rek had roared in victory himself and seeing his Commander win the tourney.  True he would of prefered it won in Honor, but at same time he had taught the human a lesson for sure.  He slapped Saj friendly on the back, making sure not to do so to hard.

It is a victory.  To see tha Human win would of been... he did not finish..

K'Tar, filled with the excitement of battle had prepared to charge the human but was soon stopped as an official stepped into the ring.  K'Tar raised his Bat'leth in victory and let out a tremendous roar.  K'Tar ignored the human as he carried his Bat'leth and stepped off of the stage and into the celebrating crowd.

I agree it would have been disappointing to say the least! We should celebrate the victors with a good mug of bloodwine once the ceremonies are completed since it will be one of the last times I get to see all of you until next year!" she said raising her voice amongst all the people around them so M'rek could hear her.

Kieran relaxed from his defensive posture and smirked as he watched K'Tar be denied trying to finish him off. He would have to be wary of that one, and in fact, the whole crew of the meHHaj, but he wasn't worried, he had done as he had been ordered to do, and beaten Ta'pez. Some one in II didn't like the son of Chang, and wanted him shamed, and Kieran had done as he had been asked. Ta'pez was shamed that he lost to a human, and an II agent at that. Kieran had wished he could've fought more honourably, but alas, he was not able to, work came first, before pleasure.

Kieran ignored K'Tar as the Klingon walked past. He lost, and that was that. Nothing further could be gained by making any more comments.

Kieran left the arena and headed to see a medic about his concussion. His vision was becoming more blurred, and he had things to do, and with a concussion, he would be less likely to be effective.
