Title: The Meeting at the Legion

Kieran (still dressed in his Engineering uniform) came into the dining hall at the Legion and ordered his food from a replicator. Nothing special, french onion soup with cheese and croutons. the medic said to keep is simple for a few hours. A slice of bread and a fizzie-drink to round off the meal, and Kieran went and sat down.

As he was finishing his soup, a man sat down in the seat opposite him."Mind if I sit here?"

Kieran looked up from his soup, and noticed that the man was Starfleet, red-shirt, Commander.

"Do I have a choice, Commander?" Kieran replied.

"Of course you have a choice, but it doesn't mean much right now." and the man smiled as he offered his hand. Kieran took it, and was impressed at the strength of the Commander. The man said, "I am Commander Vicktor Putin, Starfleet Special Operations. I am the one who has been sending you messages."

Kieran studied this man sitting in front of him, trying to figure him out. Like Kieran, he was practically impossible to read. Kieran commented, "And the purpose of sending me those messages?"

"To see how you would react. We have been watching you, Kieran. For quite some time now. Your service to the Federation and the Klingons has been exemplimentary. We wanted to see how you would react under a bit of unknown pressure."

Kieran understood, having been an observer for II for a brief time, he understood what this Commander Putin said. "Well, now that you have, observed me, what is your opinion."

Putin pulled out something from his pocket, and placed it into Kieran's hand. Kieran looked at it, and said, "It's a pip."

"If you're willing to join us, you can add it to your collar, Mr. O'Donnell."

Kieran looked at the Commander, "You want me to join Special Operations, Commander? What would my duties be? I have just been assigned as an Engineering Consultant to the Tomar, for their next mission."

"You would still be doing that. Admiral Shepherd's ship needs a qualified Engineer to oversee the breaking in of their new Chief Engineer, though you would be wearing a red uniform instead, with a nice, shiny gold pip. Once you have finished that mission, you would be reassigned depending on where we needed you next, doing whatever needs to be done." Putin replied.

"And I would answer too?"

"Strategic Operations. Special Operations. A promotion to the rank of Commander, and a level 17 Security Clearance. Higher then most Commanders and some Captains in the Fleet. You would be one of our trouble-shooters, given alot of discretion to complete your assignments. And perhaps we would loan you out to II every so often too." Viktor answered.

"And how much time would I have to decide if I accept...?" Kieran asked, ignoring the "loan" part for the time being.

Commander Putin pulled a micro-padd and handed it to Kieran. Thumbprint this and send it to the location specified, anytime during your voyage back to the Tomar. Once you dock on the ship, the padd is auto-set to wipe clean. The coordinates to send to won't show until you imprint it."

Putin stood up, and Kieran followed suit. Shaking hands, the Commander took his leave and left the Legion. Kieran stood, staring down at the pip and the micro-padd. His future would be changed by whatever he decided. He would be a trouble-shooter for Special Operations, similar to what he did for II, but his clearance would be higher. Kieran had to make a decision, but he had some time. Taking the padd and the pip, Kieran made his way back to his quarters to pack, and get ready to leave the tournament. Changing into civillian clothes, Kieran sent his duffle and the padd to the runabout Rantar, but kept the pip, putting it into his pocket.
