First day, 5am, and I just caught up on the posts so far... ah, the betleH tourney, such fine memories.

I hope the people new to the event this year are starting to understand how easy it is to get behind in the posts.  If you have already seen them stack up on you, remember that when you post.  If you tag someone one, try to ping them on IM unless you know they are looking for it.  And check back often. When this thing really gets going it will be hard to keep up.

Also remember that the judges are also trying to keep up plus we have other posts and emails to deal with (like the honor stance and sending out who wins).  If someone misses a tag, don't get upset.

The pace of this event is one of the reasons we decided to try the forum route this year and why we picked this software.  It doesn't have all the features of the others but it does have one thing that should help.  If you log in and only read a few messages, it will remember what you have read.

But there is a warning there too.  If you log in and you see that 'In the bar' has new messages and then you go look and see 4 threads with new posts and only read one, the next time you log in, the area, 'In the bar' may be marked read even though there are 3 unread threads.  This is because you visited the area since the last post.  The mark on the area means new thread posts since you last looked, not that there are unread threads in the area.  (I hope that made sense.)

Anyway, have fun and try to keep up.

I reckon I'll be up until 5:30 too, & it's only 14:15 and I have the afternoon free.Cheesy

It's a good job I'm not participating this year, my insomnia got really bad & I ended up completely forgetting about the tourney for a couple of days.
