At the sound of a female voice that sounded like it was coming from somewhere on the floor roS turned to find out who was talking to him... his first impression was that he was facing a Vulcan before he noticed her uniform was that of a Romulan.

A flicker of surprise passed over roS's face as he found the source of the voice.

roS wasn't sure which surprised him the most... that this small female had asked him a question or that she was a Romulan.

Taking a second to regroup mentally from his desire to fight something roS considered her question before replying.

roS wasn't use to dealing with Romulans and wasn't quite sure how she expected him to react so rather then come off as the typical brute Klingon roS just raise an eyebrow like he had seen so many Vulcans do and answered her question at face value.

Roughly translated it means "we fight to enrich the spirit"

Its meaning is a bit deeper then the translation allows for in Stardard but thats about the best I can do...

extending his hand tward her in typical human greeting fashion he added...

and you are?

Now it was roS's turn to see how this Romulan female would react to both a polite reply to her question and a completely unexpected human form of greeting.

ON:

The Legion, Just Before The Call.

Davidian coughed. The Legion was an odd place. It had a feel to it that scared him. He sighed.
Julianna looked at him. "What's wrong, Dandy?" She asked.
"Nothing." He shook his head.
Julianna sighed. "Fine. Now, let's find someone who can book us a holodeck, so we can train. Let's go get your Bat'Leth." Julianna stood up, and headed over to the bad.
Davidian scoffed. He didn't like Bat'Leth fighting. It was too ugly. He prefered the flowing movements of Axe-fighting. But only then, did he prefer to train, never to fight. However, something inside him made him lash out. He howled in pain. It wasn't a physical pain, more an emotional pain. Sighing, he got up.

Julianna returned, and helped Davidian up.
"Change of plan, Dandy. There's some kind of meeting for the competitors." They walked out of the Legion, and headed for the assembly.

The Opening Ceremony.

Davidian and Julianna entered the convention hall, and headed for the back wall. Davidian hated occasions like this. Too many people. He sat down, and Julianna sat down next to him. She patted his knee.
"Don't worry, Dandy. It'll be over soon." She laughed.
Davidian began playing with his nails, when RAdm Durkis took the podium, and gave his speech. Davidian yawned. He wanted to train.
" qa? wIje?meH maSuv?. qa? wIje?meH maSuv!" Durkis and the crowd began to chant. Davidian looked at Julianna, who shrugged her shoulders. The chanting continued, irritating Davidian, who jumped to his feet, and roared through the chanting. A few people looked at Davidian, in disgust, but Julianna just laughed, and eased her brother back to his seat.
"What are you doing? This is a Klingon thing, and you go and roar like an animal? Come on, let's go." Julianna stood up, and stormed out of the Convention hall, and Davidian got up, and walked with her, wondering what was wrong.

OFF.

(partially picking up on Arelwynn's tag)

ON:<ceremony>

The room was like a vast roiling ocean; undercurrents of feeling assaulting Ro's shields like a tsunami, despite the strength of her mental blocking. All around her the hall was alive with sound, rising off the sea of emotion like steam.
Her mind's protective barriers held fast against the onslaught - a small still centre of calm at the heart of the storm - and she, the observer, watching it crash around her and move on, leaving her safe inside her mental fortress.
It was mere seconds that passed as Ro felt the emotive swell of the gathered throng break over her, but it was enough to remind her that this was one reason she felt more suited to the profession of Engineering and not counselling or any of the 'soft' sciences.
As always, Tomas' proximity, both to her heart and her body, made blocking him impossible on a telpathic level. She could feel his thoughts and anticipation of what was to come as surely as if he'd spoken aloud.
That and he had her hand in what felt like a death grip, she thought with a wry smile.
She daren't move in case he crushed her finger bones to powder.
The tiny part of him that owed something to his Vulcan heritage, was, she was certain, responsible for their mental closeness, and one of the reasons it felt as if he were broadcasting his feelings.
Vulcans weren't telepaths any more than Humans were (although some, like her paternal grandmother, were what had been termed 'intuitive telepaths' or '6th sensors'), but many Vulcans possessed the capacity to focus their mental energies. Usually this required training, and although Tomas had had none himself she was convinced that somewhere in his lineage he had a Human great grand parent whose '6th sense' had been more finely honed than most.
Right now though, as the speeches elicted roars of noise from those assembled, it was the Klingon facet of his mind that rose to dominance. As always when he was passionate about things, it surged upward in his mental plane.
And yet..there was sadness in him today..regret..or something like it. She kept her mind firmly closed, not wanting to drown in the cacophony of feeling from everyone else, or intrude on her man's private thoughts.
Telepathy, as she'd once told him, wasn't like reading a book. It was more like plunging your head into a malestrom and attempting to catch the wind. Humanoids tended to 'think' in all their senses..color, sound, images as well as feelings. Very few thought in 'words'.
No wonder counselors always looked distracted she thought, battening herself against another wave of excitable Klingon thought-storms.
She very much wanted Wolfe to do well here..'well' in the sense that he quietened some of the demons about his past in his soul. His eyes shone as he listened, and soaked up the atmosphere and she smiled softly, remembering all the times she'd attended one ceremony or another (although nothing like this) with Klingon friends at the Academy.
This was HIS time, and HIS moment..she was happy to just be here and support him in any way he needed.

It was partly because she was wrapped up in her own musings that she didn't see the approach of the blue-eyed Betazoid.
When he spoke she almost launched herself at warp-speed ceilingwards.
Clamping her mouth shut on the Klingon expletive that sprang to her lips (Ro was given to swearing quite colorfully in Klingon when she worked - it was a wonderfully expressive language), she smiled to the newcomer.
Tomas, was already turning smoothly to greet him, an eyebrow raised in polite query....

Where is my

Ceres was leaning against the far wall, her foot tapping to an imagined tune in her head as gray eyes scanned the crowd, curious. Sighing, she took a long drink of the water she had managed to find and frowned. She knew no one... Even the crew from the meHHaj, she only knew a few members... She stared down into her cup.

K'Tar appraoched Ceres slowly. He was feeling bad about what had happened...yet he didn't really know what to say. "No bloodwine?"

Ceres blinked, not allowing herself to be startled as she slowly glanced up, gray eyes narrowed. "I prefer to be focused."

"I see..." K'Tar sighed. He had never apologized to anyone, yet he knew he must apologize to Ceres. "I...apologize for striking you on Khitomer."

Ceres took another drink, seeming almost unfazed by K'Tar's words. She shrugged. "What's done is done, what's said is said. You can't take it back or change it..." There was a lull in the conversation. "I was thinking of transferring back into Starfleet." She said honestly.

K'Tar couldnt believe what he was hearing. "Starfleet?" K'Tar said, full of disgust. "Why?"

Ceres refused to look at K'Tar. "I don't belong here. My blood may be half Klingon, but I was raised by my Human father... I even look more Human than Klingon... Look! You can barely see my ridges!"

K'Tar sighed. "There is more to being Klingon than just ridges. They may barely be visible, but they ARE there. Klingon blood DOES run through your veins. It does not really matter who you were raised by as long as your heart is Klingon. Take Worf, Son of Mogh. He was raised by human...yet he is an honorable warrior."

Ceres growled and placed her cup down on a nearby table. "I have nothing here! Yes, M'Rek and Ness have become my friends but the one person I truly cared about threw me halfway across a dining hall and tried to kill me." She snarled, stepping close to him.

K'Tar nodded. "Yes...however, I have apologized. As you said, what happened, has happened. You ARE half human and it will take me time to get used to that."

Ceres shook her head and gave a laugh that was far from amused. "K'Tar... but the time you realize what you want, it'll be too late." She gave him a disgusted frown and turned to walk away.

K'Tar grabbed Ceres' arm. "I do know what I want. I want you, Ceres."

Ceres yanked her arm from his grasp and crossed them over her chest. "Then stop being a coward."

K'Tar narrowed his eyes, holding back the sudden anger rising within him. Nobody had called him a coward and lived. "And just how am I being a coward? Especially when it you who is planning to run off to the Federation?"

Ceres scowled and resisted the urge to attack him. "You are a coward for fear what others would think of us, for attack me, for being so insanely jealous over people I had said were only my friends. I wanted to go home, to see me father..."

"I am not afraid of what others will think of us or else I would not have been with you in the first place.  I was not jealous, I was only stating that you were not acting like a Klingon Mate.  I...am not used to human customs.  Why must you join Starfleet to see your father?"

Ceres shook her head and sighed. "K'Tar... I'm really not in the mood to talk about this. I'm tired." She turned and picked up her cup of water, taking a small sip, still not meeting K'Tar's eyes. Instead the brunete chose to stare at ther feet, tucking a few dark locks behind her ear.

"Who is being the coward now?" K'Tar asked.
Ceres smirked. "K'Tar... That comment doesn't work on me... For I am always a coward, inside at least." She waved her hand and decided to take a seat at a nearby empty table.

"And why is that?  Are you afraid to accept your Klingon side?" KTar said as he followed Ceres to the table.

"I really don't want to talk about this here, in public... We're surrounded by people an I'm telling you I'm a coward. We can continue this later." She didn't look up, instead she fiddled with her cup.

"Or we can continue it somewhere else.  This may be a shock to you Ceres, but I do care about you...I do love you."

This made Ceres glance up before she frowned and glared. "You sure have an odd way of showing it." She stood and moved to walk past him, heading for the exit.

K'Tar blocked her path.  "I told you that I apologize for striking you.  But it is hard for me to accept human customs.  Surely you can understand that."

"Yes, but I'm still human... and it's hard for me to adapt to Klingon customs... I don't think I've ever eaten this much meat in my entire life..." She laughed softly, trying to lighten the mood.

"And you are doing well.  I...have missed you," K'Tar said.  It was hard for him to show his feelings to anyone.

Ceres looked up at the much taller Klingon with a small smile on her lips. Reaching up, she placed a tiny hand against his cheek. "Perhaps we can start over?"

K'Tar took Ceres' hand.  "I would like that."

Ceres' smile grew as she allowed him to take her hand. "Good... So when is your first match?"

"Tommorow I believe.  TaPez wants us to join the crew in a private dinner to celebrate the MeH'Haj.  I told I will attend.  Will you attend as well?  It is tonight."

Ceres nodded. "Yes, of course." She looked around the crowd and arched an eyebrow. "So how many people do you know in here?" She laughed softly as she knew almost none.

"Just those from the crew as well as my brother and sister," K'Tar stated.

Ceres turned to K'Tar obviously curious. "Brother and sister?" A grin slowly spread across her lips. "Interesting..."

"Yes, they are here on....family matters." KTar siad, not wanting to go into the details with his feud with the House of B'Reml.

Out of the corner of her eye, Talora spotted another man entering the bar.  He was clearly Romulan.  Having not seen another familiar face since meeting Espa Shtar a few months earlier, Talora politely excused herself from roS and decided to speak with him.

As kira enter the Great hall. her heart swelled it was a honour.
and this was one her father had never seen.  she could recall
the day when he held a betleH for the first time . she could recall
all his experiences with the weapon let alone his honourable teacher.
she call how the great weapon was art in motion. but even so that
art could kill with a breath if the welder was good enough to become
one with the weapon.

there was one more thing she like about the Klingon culture. Her size
did not stand out so much here, not like it did on the federation worlds.
she could sense the call of the warrior from with in the halls.

it took her complete train of thought to follow the klingon being spoken.
some many different way of say the same thing,  but so many way to
make a terrible error. had her to the point where she was afraid to speak.

as she kept her back to the wall her Starfleet uniform would clearly mark.
as most like likely a security personal. but her rank would not mark her
station as easy...

Her three eye scan the room as to drink in every detail to pass it on to her
generation to come as a crowning moment. in very young life.

Amoungst the competitors, a Romulan stood. Dhivael had been at last year's competition and done rather well. Unfortunatly, noone much recognized her. In this years competition the Commodore was one of only a handfull of officers from Task Force 38. She had been disappointed to hear that she wouldnt be taking on some of them. That made her heart roar with laughter.

The Ceremony Came and went. Dhivael participated, and speaking fluent klingon understood most of it. The battles lay ahead, and she would make good use of her time. After all, she was a Romulan...

Checking his Disruptor and his Intel Kit to the station's Security Department, Kieran took his blade and made his way to the Welcoming Ceremony, hanging up his bat'leH in the correct place and getting inside and standing at the back, duffle still slung around his shoulders. There would be time to find his quarters later.

OFF:

Just to rain on your parade Wolfe...

ON:

A tap came on Tomas Wolfe's shoulder from another flag officer of a more junior rank.

Unaware of Wolfe's feelings, Valren made it a rule not to scan the minds of those of a more senior rank, he approached him to introduce himself in his new role in Bravo Fleet.

Arelwynn: Fleet Admiral Wolfe, I wanted to introduce myself. Vice Admiral Valren Arelwynn, I've just come to the fourth fleet from Starfleet Intelligence. Though I am sure you are aware.

OFF:

TAG Wolfe(s?)

Tomas turned very quickly towards the voice, releasing Ro's hand, and almost coming up into a fighting stance when his mind finally made the connection of what was really happening. Wolfe cursed himself for being so edgy, but he let his body relax, at least for the moment.

He looked the new TFCO up and down a couple of times before speaking. He had never met the man before, but he did review his service record when he found out that he was taking Neirbo's billet. Starfleet Intelligence. It was hard for Tomas not to chuckle at that. As a senior flag officer, Tomas understood that SI served a very important role, but it was his experience as a ship CO that gave him all the bad examples of SI screwing things up.

Wolfe: *Holding out his hand* Good to meet you Admiral. How are you settling in, and with all of this going on at the same time?

Tomas looked over at Ro, and suddenly remembered that the polite thing would be to introduce her.

Wolfe: *Putting his arm around her to help move her forward* Admiral, may I introduce my fiancee, Commander Aurora McCloud. Ro, this is Vice Admiral Valren Arelwynn, CO of XFY and TF44.

Ro smiled, her eyes twinkling with a mischevious inner light.

Ro: Well, apart from Raktajino, I got myself something for when you progress up the rankings...

Tomas gave her a quizzical look, not managing to prevent his eyebrow arching to his obvious self-annoyance.
Here, where his Klingon blood surged to the fore, reminders of his mixed heritage were still unwelcome.

Wolfe:Are you going to give me a CLUE, or am I supposed to guess?

Ro: ::Still smiling:: Oh..I think we'll leave it as a surprise...I can tell you though it cost an almost obscene amount of credits..and you paid for it..

She patted his cheek affectionately, and gave a soft laugh.

Wolfe: ::quietly, bending his mouth close to her ear:: I have ways to make you talk..

Ro: ::Grinning hugely now at having successfully teased him:: And I'm sure I'll enjoy them all..but I'm not telling..you better make sure you win..

She'd taken his off the cuff remark on the shuttle to heart, deciding that when in Rome, although geographically inaccurate in this case, was a good idea.
She never spent on clothing, unless it was engineering-friendly things, but this time, in honor of Tomas' first tournament she had made ane xception. And because she knew it would amuse, and perhaps please him.
The only problem had been finding a female warrior's leathers that FIT her..rather embarrassingly she'd had to get one intended for a young Klingon female..her height and build being no match for the fine adult specimens she'd seen striding through corridors.
She'd wear it if he made it to the next round; she hoped he would, he wanted so badly to do well.

Still grinning at his confusion they went into dinner...

(off..now we're free of this thread unless my other half wants to do more, lol)
