So'l wandered into The Legion, one amongst a swell of people leaving the opening cerimony.

The young hybrid looked around for a place to sit down.

ON:

There weren't many tables free in the Legion. The rush after the opening ceremony had flooded into the bar, unsurprisingly, and Tauvits had found himself lucky to find a small table in a rather undesirable spot in the middle of the bar. Not near enough to a corner to be wanted by any who desired privacy, nor near enough to the bar for very easy access to drink. As such, he'd grabbed himself an entire bottle of house whiskey - which was surprisingly good, he had to say - and a tumbler, and was helping himself to the bottle generously.

He glanced up as he saw more competitors enter, and one caught his eye, a young half-Klingon. As the man approached, not obviously looking for anyone in particular or seeming to be heading anywhere with any great purpose other than 'a table', Tauvits nudged the chair opposite him out to catch his attention.

Tauvits: Hey, kid. You're one of the competitors, aren't you? Thought I recognised you around from last year, on KDB. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but you're one of K'Hare's... uh... I'm not sure what the right word is. Students?

Tauvits took another large gulp of the whiskey, the liquid burning its way down his throat in a most settling manner. Adrian Forrest was the furthest thing from his mind at this point.

Tauvits: Have a seat, kid, if you've nowhere else to be. The whiskey's pretty good, though I guess if you're meant to drink Bloodwine there's quite a lot of that flowing about. The name's Tauvits, if you don't remember me from before.

So'l took a seat across the small table from Tauvits. He'd heard something about a special dinner for the Klingon crews happening somewhere else, but he wasn't feeling very Klink at the moment.

So'l: Hi man. Name's So'l. Yea, I'm with K'Hare.

So'l tried to recall if he'd met Tauvits last year. He recalled seeing him, but hadn't talked with him.

So'l: So, what brings you here?

Tauvits shrugged, pouring himself another glass of whiskey. He was glad he'd taken the care to grab a couple of glasses so newcomers wouldn't also have to brave the rather full bar.

Tauvits: The usual. Fortune and glory. *chuckling* But seriously? It's a break from living on a cramped B'rel class and associating with scummy types. I'm not in Starfleet any more, but there are times when a little Federation comforts can be... welcome.

He sipped the glass of whiskey a little more delicately this time.

Tauvits: What about you? Or does K'Hare make attendance compulsory?

Falco grinned, then pushed one of the other glasses out, tilting the whiskey just short of pouring into this new tumbler. He raised an eyebrow at S'ol, the question clear.

So'l nodded, and Tauvits poored the shot. He took the glass, and hesitated before drinking.

So'l: Yea, K'Hare made me come.

He slugged down the wiskey and grimaced. You lied, said a voice in his head. You're pathetic. You can't even admit that you're here beacuse you want to be.

If any indication of what he was thinking passed across So'l's face, he didn't know it.

Tauvits gave him a quizzical glance, but didn't comment, merely pushed the whiskey to the middle of the table, indicating it could be shared liberally.

Tauvits: A little tough. Still, it's a good event. I actually met K'Hare at the first one two years ago. *chuckling again* That was an... interesting encounter, to say the least.

He finished off the next glass of whiskey distinctly more carefully. The night was still young, and he'd only had a few snacks. Maybe in a little while he'd see what food they did here.

Tauvits: So, K'Hare's got himself a school of Klingon-ness. Can't think of anyone more suited to it. I would have had a chat about it with him last year, but he seemed to have enough on his plate as it was with the station and all. What is it he gets you kids to do? *glancing at S'ol* Apart from obvious betleH training, I mean.

Accompanied by my staff, I wandered into The Legion.

Upon entering, I saw several people staring at the weapons hanging at our sides.  Apparently, people had never seen U.S. Navy officer's swords before.  Oh well, I guess its not every day you see one of them these days.

Anyhow, I saw two competitors sitting together at a table.  I thought we might introduce ourselves (this being the first competition we'd been to).  One of these competitors was a half-klingon cadet.  This caught me by surprise, as I this young man must be exceptional with a blade.   The other was an Andorian admiral.

REYNOLDS:  Mind if we sit here sir?

OFF:

Seeing as Tauvits is wearing civilian clothing and is, in fact, hiding his identity as a Starfleet officer, he would not stand out in a crowd as anything more than a blue-skinned man (not obviously Andorian, as a half-breed) in civilian clothing. He's not an Admiral anymore, either, but that hasn't really been done IC properly, so that's neither here nor there.

S'ol, similarly, wouldn't be wearing anything that would denote him as a cadet, not in the Starfleet sense - Klingon garb (for anyone other than S'ol, I'd assume armour, but...).

So if you went up to Tauvits and called him sir, he'd think you were talking to someone else. There's just a blue-skinned guy talking to another guy with Klingon features, both in non-Starfleet clothing.

Deal with that as ye wish.

So'l felt a cool flow of relief wash through him at the opportunity to move the conversation in a different direction.

So'l: We mostly have lectures on what it means to be Klingon, the different meanings of honor, that kind of stuff. Then all of us have menial duties on the station, and what amount to department head duties on the Hegh'ta.

So'l sipped his drink, and continued.

So'l: Its...it's a place to be. Some parts of it, I really like.

Maybe a little too much, said the little voice savagely. So'l tried to ignore it.

So'l: So, tell me about yourself.

It was a long walk, more random in its path than any pre-set course and yet here he was, standing before The Legion. There was little point in returning to his designated quarters soon as most of what needed to be unpacked had been.

The bar was buzzing with patrons, a stark contrast as to when he was last here. All thanks to the tournament of course, which would undoubtedly bring a more than tidy profit to the proprietor of this establishment. Slipping his huge civilian clad form in between the crowd, Loj began the common search for a seating place. A task that proved to be harder than it seemed with most of the prime areas already occupied. Coupled with a coalescence of different aromas, the search seemed as if it was being out in someone's laundry room.

Meeting a familiar face might be a good thing, but then again, might is never a sure thing.

Tauvits: Me?

He sipped his whiskey again, gaining time to just, for his own peace of mind, re-formulate the proper tale in his head.

Tauvits: Well, I used to be in Starfleet, I make no secret of that. Had a little bit of a disagreement with the head honchos, mind. Considering they're a group of cowardly wretches who are more interested in looking after their own worthless political hides than dealing with real dangers and retaliating to show attacks within the Federation are unacceptable.

He threw back the next glass of whiskey, feeling the faint tingling in his mind which usually happened when he immersed himself completely in the role of disgruntled former fed. Playing the part wasn't hard, but sustaining it for extended periods of time left him feeling like a completely different person inside and out. He wasn't sure how that would work with whiskey to aid it.

Tauvits: Since then, well, I've had a few encounters with some pirates myself. Kind of the reason I got kicked out. So I took one of their ships from them, a rather nice B'Rel class. Gathered myself a crew, and these days we've just been hanging around independent space doing... you know... odd-jobs.

He left his ending intentionally vague. Declaring to be a merc wasn't always the best of ideas, and if nothing else the Theseus had yet to officially do anything illegal. Granted, they were on their way right now to steal a prototype, but until now, the worst thing they'd done was trigger a firefight in Jaressi Centre and aid in Beckett jumping bail.

Well, unless Milok had done something ELSE they'd need to get on damage control for.

Tauvits: But you know the B'Rel class... it's been months of updating the systems, getting her running smoothly again. The pirates took no care of her, so I've been hiring engineers from Earth to Bajor to help fix her up. It's mad.

He glanced up, at that point seeing a familiar face in the crowd, and lifted a hand to wave neatly in its direction.

Tauvits: Loj! There's a seat over here, you great lug!

A year ago, it had been Loj who'd been the one to notice that Tauvits did not entirely seem himself, more worn, tired, and haunted. And although Tauvits could not evaluate quite as precisely what was different about Loj, extra burdens on shoulders were visible to him, even as he nudged out an extra chair for the other half-Klingon.

Tauvits: You look like you could do with a whiskey, old friend. *gesturing to S'ol* This here's S'ol, one of K'Hare's students, so be careful or he'll probably start cross-examining us on our own senses of honour or human mating habits. *grinning amiably* S'ol, this is Loj, a friend of mine from previous tournaments. He's actually assigned to here, Xavier, so I guess he's got an easier time of dealing with the upheaval than most.

Falco moved to pour Loj a glass of whiskey. Anyone else, and he'd actually have to go to the bar. Then they could get themselves a fresh bottle.

Tauvits: So, what's up with you these days, mate?

A single eyebrow of his rose at the mention of his name. Loj had expected to meet friends and acquaintances of yesteryears at this tourney but never expected one to catch him unawares. Then again, who does? Grabbing the chair that Tauvits had placed for him, he rested his massive form upon it before studying the other that sat at the same table.

Loj: No whiskey for me.

His hand moved just enough to prevent the dangling drop of alcohol laden, Terran beverage from spilling into the glass. And as he signalled the waiter to place his order he turned to the Andoran.

Loj: Did things that needed doing.

The half-Klingon Lieutenant garbed in black civilian cloth attempted to carve out a smile but he knew that only the edges of his lips curled slightly and nothing else. His eyes then shifted towards S'ol as the waiter arrived with two jugs of bloodwine and a tankard to boot.

Loj: I remember you. Do your ribs hurt still?

As kira enter the Legion  she did a quick look around  picking up a large mug of Blood wine  drinking it . as she sat near the bar.. the table was free. it look like a good place to watch thing take place.

kira kept wish the Sajida was here at least she would have some one to talk to.. the problem being a dracanian female not to many people found you interesting. at least not social like. but kira was all ready for the unexpected... the last time she was in a bar there was a horrible fight.. lot of carnage. as she took a drink of her blood wine she chuckle god it was fun..

Andrew was lucky to find a nice unocupied table and sat there to have dinner, he wasnt in a talking mood so he ordered his dinner ate it and return to his quarters. Hoping his roomate was already there.

He reached his quarters and no signs of his roomate so he took a little meditation time and then whent to bed...
