It was early morning, the day of the firts series of combats and M'Rek left his quarter's before Ness awakened. Slipping out suprisingly silent for one his size. He had given himself the injection that he required to slow down his motabolism already and now just needed to get something to eat. It would not do well to drop out from starvation in the middle of combat. He arrived at the Legion bar and after getting his meal sat down at a table to eat. T'lai had decided to get up early that morning, to get a good seat to watch the tournament. After she cleaned herself and grabbed her bat'leth, just in case of a drop out, for she was still on the waiting list incase there was a no-show, she headed to the Legion to get her morning meal. M'Rek was eating his meal when T'Lai came in and suddenly found himself uncomfortable. He now knew what her feeling were towards him and knew she was upset because he did not return the same feelings. He wasn't sure how he was going to deal with her if she decided to come over. T'lai grabbed a plate of fresh targ meat and took it over to a nearby table, making sure it was very far away from M'Rek. She sat down and began to eat her food. M'Rek glanced at her and then back to his food as he ate. He wandered if he should speak but was not sure. He knew she was upset but he could not change how he felt. The piece of targ meat that T'lai was debating upon eating or not was being poked at with a knife, rather than being eaten. It was becomming apparent that she wasn't focusing on her meal, and her mind was else where. She sighed deeply as she wondered why M'Rek didnt even bother to focus any of his training on her, and always went for G'Trell. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she pondered upon the thought that it was possible that he liked G'Trell more than her. As she thought about that she suddenly slammed her cup down on the table, creating a rather loud noise, but she didnt seem to notice as she crossed her arms after putting the knife down. M'Rek looked back at her and finally spoke. "When a Klingon has a problem with someone they face them." T'lai just glared at him. "I never said I had a problem." She said. "Then you must be angry at yourself." He said and took a bite from his favorite meal, Skull stew. "Perhaps it will do you best to stay out of my business." She sneared. M'Rek grunted, his golden brown eyes meeting hers and locking. He said nothing verbaly but his eyes told her that he knew she was angry at him and waswaiting for her to do something. She just merely smirked with a huff and turned her head away from him, making it evident she wasn't going to do anything about it, unless he did. M'Rek growled, it was apparent she wasn't going to face him without some him motivating her. "Are you coward? You have a problem with me, face it!" "I think its more like YOU who has a problem with me!" She retorted. It seemed as though they had gotten attention from the other people in the bar for now their voices were very loud and people were staring. "I'm not the one who goes gaga every time you see miss thing!" She said in reference to G'Trell. Now that it was out he took his plate and approached her setting it on the other side of table from her. "Do you remeber the first thing you said after I injured you the first time we met?" T'lai sighed. "I know exactly what I said." She said with a huff. "I tell that to everybody... But you know things changed since I've been on the meh'haj. I've changed... I'm not stupid and naieve like I was when I first got here.. And you didnt even pay one bit of attention to me at that match with G'Trell. You completely ignored me!" She said. "I spent most the time battling with you until you made moves on me." He growled. "You was staring at HER the entire time! You couldn't keep your eyes off her! Admit I am wrong! You wanted to battle WITH me because you like miss thing! You WANTED her to win and you WANTED her to fight you. DIDNT YOU??" She demanded. Her voice was more upset now. M'Rek growled, "Yes and no. Yes I like her! No I didn't just go there to fight her! Up untill then I thought we were just.. friends." T'lai's eyes narrowed. "I've been giving you hints left and right! Are you THAT blind??" She asked. She then growled with frustration. "I give up!" She said, and accidently hit him as she stood up. "I cant compair to G'Trell... I don't even know why I bothered trying." She said as she proceeded to leave. M'Rek growled and before he knew it he had gripped her smaller hand, his claws resting on her skin but not piercing. He turned her to look at him. Then he realized what he was doing and released her. "You should of made it more apparent earlier. I can't change how I feel now and I have excepted that." "Touch me again like that, and you'll regret it." She sneared. "And I cant change how I feel about you. And it isnt like its gonna go away in 30 seconds." She said as she yanked her arm away from him. M'Rek nodded in acceptance. "Then I hope you find someone of better intrest." She glared at him as he said that. "Did it ever occur to you that maybe I don't WANT to find someone else better?" She asked. M'Rek looked at her. He didn't know what to tell her. "I can't change." He grabbed his empty plate and put it away. T'lai felt her chest grow heavy and weigh down. "If that's the way you want to be... Then fine. Good Day." She said and adruptly left the bar. As she walked a good bit down the hall she stopped and slid down to a sitting position. She sighed deeply as she wondered why she even bothered to attempt to love somebody. No one would ever love someone like her. M'Rek sighed and left for the training area to practice and warm up. JP T’Lai M’Rek
