Ta'pez vs Green
« on: Feb 20th, 2005, 2:57pm »

Will the evil chengpu' win once more?

 ON:

The area was standing room only, to see Ta'pez  returning for yet another round of battle to deffend his championship. The Klingon contingency in the audience were quite loud, and although the odds makers "point spread" had lessend a bit after Greens last match, he was still the underdog.

The PA system cut in...."Now entering, in the red corner, ships champion, from the USS Peacemaker Seargant Major, Jack "Duke" Green! The noise of the crowd rose as the large muscular Marine from strode in, flexing his large bicepts, and swinging his Bat'leth in moves to impress the audience, and the noise from the cheers confirmed their approval as he did. As he neared the center of the arena and the cheering fadded the PA system announced the " Now entering from the blue corner...........Defending Champ, , Commanding Officer, and ships champion of the IKS meH'Haj, ........Ta'pez HoD! And the crowd literaly shook the arena with the noise they were producing.

Ta'pez executed a series of warm upexcersizes which served as both display of skill as well intimidation. After he was done he was done he bowed to the crowds and then turned towards the large marine.

Ta'pez: It is a shame only one of us will be able to represent the Task force the rest of the tournament.

Green: Ya it vill be, I vill speake of your honor in mine next battle, and champion address. (said in his thick Austian/German like accent)

Ta'pez: You are confident. That can be an ally or a weakness.

Green: Unt vich vone do you tink it is heir HoD.

Ta'pez chuckled, it was clear that this was no begginer. "The first will provide a good battle. The other will be flawed. You tell me wich it will be.......challenger."

Green nodded, raising his Bat'leth to a deffensive posture. Ta'pez mirroring the move held still as Green began to circle the deffending champion. sizing up his opponent for any visable weaknes.........there wern't any, then decided to "test" him, attacking with some standard moves. Ta'pez was not the deffending champ for just ANY reason. He was able to block, and counter attack as well as Green. The sparing and exchange of metal continued as the two men moved about the arena. After a time, Green was clearly the agressor, with Ta'pez "letting" green do most of the advancing. Almost sizing him up, letting him take the lead in attacks. It was clear by the pure size of the Human, that it would be hours before fatigue would set in. The Marine was good, especially for a Human. Ta'pez bid his time, looking, looking for that one flaw, one mistake as the two continued to exchange blows, offensively, and defensively. He was intent on winning this and his methodic ways showed this.

The crowd recoginzed the quality of both contestants. Cheering loudly for both as the battle continued, and grew longer, the croud realized this was one for the books. Soon a chant among the (mostly human spectators) was heard "Duke.....Duke.....Duke.....ruting for the underdog, but it was soon overpowered by the larger Klingon contingent of spectators as they began chanting for their Brother, and defending champion against the Human ...........Ta..'pez!......Ta..'pez......Ta..'pez! The noise was deafening, bairly heard wear the clashes of metal as the two engadged each other with different manuevers. Al the mean while Ta'pez keept looking. Taking away nothing from the determined Human, it was obvious, why he was ships champion, not just because no one else on the ship did or could have given him a fight. He earned it.

Persperation started to become apparent on the Marine as the fight battle wore on. Both excellent specimines.

Bairley heard on the area floor as the two men fought........

Green: Unt vich have you choozen heir HoD?

Ta'pez: You have trained well (not tipping his hand he was begining to grow concerned about the Marines skills and tanacity, on equalled by Klingon wariors under his own command)

Green: Tanks, you not to bad yourself.

Just that split second, Ta'pez saw the toll of the Humans perspiration had on Green. His Bat'leth, dipped ever so slightly where and when it shouldn't have, and with lightning speed, exicuted a text book Chang attack, knocking Green's Bat'leth those few more cenimeeters, and with his sweaty palms, lowering his deffense for the winning blow needed for the victory, knocking Green out of the tournament.

The crowd errupted as Ta'pez the deffended championship and advanced to the chIS wavwl'  round.

Green lowed his head in dissapointment, as the blow would not have been fatal, but dibilitating none the less had there been an edge to the weapon.  Duke droped his weapon in resignation, raised his head, and awaited the "mock" death blow in traditional Klingon Honor.

Ta'pez moved in as would be tradition were this a real death match, but instead of dealing the blow, outstretched his right arm and hand.

Ta'pez: Your confidence as well as your skill, were not exagerations, but well deserved.

Green: (looking at the HoD, took the mans hand/arm in his own) And you are most deserving of the tittle Champion.

Ta'pez chuckled. "Your praise honors me."

M'Rek stood in the crowd of Klingons watching the battle between his HoD and a Human Marine.  It was a glorious battle and he showed his support to his HoD by over coming the crowd the make the cheer for Ta'pez louder.  The Klingons immediatly faced the challenge and roared louder, cheering for Ta'pez and overcoming the Human cheers for the Marine.  When Ta'pez won it was to great satification and M'Rek moved to meet his HoD when Ta'pez finaly came out of the arena.

ON:

Sajida had changed into a dark denim jeans and a pinkish tank top then ran out of her lodgings once she was finished as she heard the announcements of the fights happening. In the turbolift Kira's match to Pepper was announced in the designated arena. As the doors opened Sajida headed to her destination.

On her way she heard a familiar name being chanted by a load of people from a nearby arena. Following the sound she pushed her way through the people cheering on Ta'pez. She managed to bump into M'Rek who had a very good view from his end even though he was surrounded by Klingons. She stood beside him and watch Ta'pez take down his opponent with ease. Sajida couldn't help but cheer loudly with everyone who was for the Tournament Champ.

She elbowed M'Rek and spoke up. "He hasn't changed one bit! He's still a formidable fighter no matter what anyone says! I still wish I had a chance to test my strenght against his own!"

M'Rek: <?>

"Aye!" Sajida yelled out for him to hear her amongst the crowd "Anyways I must run to catch a match of a friend i'll have to see Ta'pez later"

M'Rek nodded and Sajida left the arena smiling as Ta'pez spoke with some of his fans nearby.

M'Rek looked down to the smaller Klingon/Human woman.  "Perhaps one of these days you will."

M'Rek nodded and went on to congradulate his HoD.  His mind went to what T'lai had said to him earlier, only now did the news really click in his mind.  It explained his HoD's anger earlier.  Still he thought it best he did not speak of it to his HoD now, expecialy in the crowd.  Instead he would just congradulate him and then go on to watch K'Tar's match.

He arrived just as the HoD was coming out of the Arena.  "HoD, it was a good battle."  He said as soon as Ta'pez saw him.  "Perhaps..."  He paused a moment, "You would like to work out later, if you do not mind doing so with a simple mangHom?"

Tag Ta'pez

M'Rek nodded, "Yes sir."  Then he continued on to the Arena K'Tar would be fighting K'vok in.

Ta'pez chuckled. "You disapoint me M'rek, we have practised before. Do you judge me as arrogant in this situation that I would not take up your offer?"

M'rek just shook his head denying such an implication.

"Well then that is settled then." Meet me later today after the dinner." Ta'pez said

Verghese was standing amongst the crowd and watching the match. Sickbay had been hell yesterday, and he was lucky nobody had looked for him after that. Still, he made sure to avoid drinking much and stuck to watching the matches.

As the match progressed, he was rather surprised at the tenaticy of the human, especially against a trained master at the blade such as Tapez.

But then, the mistake came. Most others would have missed it, but Tapez caught it within a second and exploited it.

And then, the match was over, almost as soon as it began.

Shaking his head and cheering on, Verghese just watched as Tapez met with a few others. The next match would start soon.
