OFF: The first part of this before the stars is a JP that the players were working on. Since I haven't heard from Talora's player in a couple days I'm posting what we have and then finishing off with Q'ol's thoughts of the thing or something. I figured since the next match has been mailed it was best to wrap this one. Talora, I am leaving this wide open so you'll be able to do your reactions to the fight as well. ON: Q'olavraH entered the arena, many things in her mind and heart after her talk with her friend. She wore a black sleeveless tunic, her black breeches, and combat boots. She wore no armor. She wore no rank, no baldric, no adornment of any kind. She was unsure why she had begun the tournament this way, but it felt right to her, and so she would continue to dress this way throughout. She looked in the crowd and saw both K'Hare and the girl child, sitting together, watching her as she moved to the wall of betleHmey. She pulled K'Hare's betleH off of the wall and had to smile to herself as part of thier conversation last night returned to her. She had practiced with it each day and so now the heavier weight of it, and the handling of it was second nature. She moved to a practice ring and warmed up her body, using fluid motions that looked more like a dance than a killing drill. Eventually she moved to the ring and waited. Talora entered the arena a few minutes later. Wearing her standard Uniform, it always felt better fighting in the uniform of the Star Empire, and bat'leth in hand, she entered the ring. In her other hand was her Honor Blade. She hoped she could arrive early to practise with it; the sleek, small dagger exercised the wrist, hand, and forearm. However, it appeared she would not have the chance. Talora placed the bat'leth on the ground and returned the Honor Blade to its hidden sheath. She saw the tall, well-built Klingon woman in front of her. Talora did a few stretches, though she had done much exercising in her quarters before leaving. She approached her opponent. Talora: Jolan Tru. I'm Centurion Talora *extends hand* Q'olavraH: *grasping the wrist of the Romulan female in a traditional Klingon greeting* I am Q'olavraH, daughter of poq. Talora: So, what shall it be today? Knock-out? First Blood? It's your choice, it doesn't matter to me. Q'olavraH: First blood is to easily drawn and the fight might end before we truely know who is the most skilled. As this is a tournament I prefer to fight to disarm. Q'olavraH released the female's arm and took a step back, anticipating that since this was a Romulan she would fight well, but not with much honor, but then, she might be wrong... after all, the best friend she had ever had was part Romulan and he had more than enough honor for ten tlhInganpu'. ******************************* Q'olavraH was surprised as they began. The Romulan was skilled, but she was no where near as skilled as Q'olavraH. Q'olavraH easily adjusted, bringing her own skill level down to that of the other female. She did not wish to take advantage, and she hoped that the Romulan be' would enjoy the fight. Talora clearly was looking for any opening, but Q'olavraH's execution and her skill with the blade left no opening. For Q'olavraH this was an exercise. They moved around the ring. Talora's attacks all taking known patterns. Q'olavraH easily blocked and parried. When Q'ol was on the attack she was impressed with the Romulan's speed and strength. Q'olavraH knew that she would win. The Romulan faltered and Q'olavraH quickly took advantage, hooking the other's blade and with a downward stroke she yanked it from the other's hands and left it sticking by a point out of the floor. Q'olavraH inclined her head. "You have the beginings of great skill with the honor blade. I look forward to facing you again in the future." Q'olavraH pounded her fist to her chest in a Klingon salute and moved to the wall to hang K'Hare's betleH in the next rack that she had earned. She then moved to where K'Hare and wovqut stood. She smiled when she heard the girl chattering excitedly to K'Hare and asking him so many questions that he did not have time to even begin to form an answer before the next question was fired at him.
