K'rahl was unaware of almost everything around him.

His ears were busy with Kur'rk.

His eyes busy with Q'olavraH.

Quote from Q`olavraH   on Feb 23rd, 2005, 6:25pm:
Q'olavraH smiled at Kieran.  "I think that between us to disarm would be the greater challenge."

She moved to a defensive stance and as she prepared she saw K'rahl enter and make his way through the spectators.. she was distracted by this.

"Works for me, Q'ol." And Kieran readied himself, and began to pace around the ring, watching as Q'ol mirrored, watching him, just as he watched and analysized her.

Kieran shifted his weapon into a ready position, and shifted his feet, and then he pounced, and pounced hard, bringing his blade up and into a downward arc, with the top most tip aimed for her blade, Kieran hoping that he could take advantage of Q'ol momentary distraction and disarm her immediately, thus quickly ending the match.

Though he wanted to fight, he was some what nervous about fighting Q'ol, wishing in some ways that she had lost in the previous round, and possibly ruining his family's chances of creating a formal alliance with K'rahl's.

Ta'pez chuckled. "This will be a glorious fight."  He turned towards Falco. "You notice the fire Kieran has in his eyes, he will not give up this one easily"

James smiled inwardly. His plan was working out fairly well to his advantage. In his palm he was holding the removable scanner, which was how most doctors got the precise scans they needed in the field.

Most of the Klingons didn't exactly have up to date medical records that James could go over to find old injuries and past weaknesses so he had been having to make his own. He had only realized how helpful these things could be in the last few matches of the tournament, and now he was beginning to understand something he had heard back at the academy. "There are only two real rules: what a man can do and what a man can't do." James was doing everything he could to to try and figure out how he was going to stay in the tournament.

His tricorder chirped lightly at him, letting him know he had all the data he needed on Ta'pez. He now had a complete medical record for Ta'pez and K'Tar and all he needed to do was wait on the results of this match and he could compile all the records he needed to study.

He clipped the removable scanner back into its housing and turned his attention to the match, hoping to learn something about both of the competitors.

Unknown to Talvur he was being observed by several carefully hidden Klingons in the stand.

Although Ta'pez traveled  around, his House had made arrangements that no further bloodshed was done at the expense of the Cheng Lords.

"Shaddow we got one petaQ scanning the HoD" cracled the comm of PoQ.

"wa' and cha' trail him, and make sure to recover the data." PoQ answered.

Q'olavraH barely got her blade moved in time to stop Kieran from knocking it from one of her hands.  She knew better than to let the fact that K'rahl had finally decided to show up distract her.

Anger began to blossom.  After all of the anguish he had put her through, and now he decided to show up, here, late.  She wished with all of her heart that she knew what to do about these feelings.

She attacked Kieran then, trying to control her anger so as not to damage him.  He took advantage of ever mistake, scratching or stabbing her lightly with his blade.

As they move around so that she could see K'rahl directly behind Kieran, staring at her, she got angry again and glared at him very briefly, but not briefly enough.  Kieran scored another deep gouge to her shoulder.

She pulled her mind back to the bout and swung her betleH around and came in at his side with it, but her timing was off and she had not practiced this move with the heavier betleH.

Kieran, not one to comment much, did notice that Q'ol didn't have her entire attention on the match, and knowing he would need all the advantage that he could, continued to use that against her as they continued to swing at each other, each time, either blade hitting blade and ringing off each other, or one of them getting a knick or scratch on each other, though it appeared that Kieran was getting more hits then Q'ol.

After scoring his fifth gouge on Q'ol, he commented, loud enough for only her to hear, "Whatever is bothering you, you need to put it out of your mind. Your distraction could kill you." Kieran made his comment as he was pressing his advantage against Q'ol, swinging his batleH around and readying another round of blows against the Klingon woman.

Q'ol focused on Kieran and growled at him, then grunted in pain as he scored another hit as her guard was a little slow coming up.

"Of course you are correct... "

For the next few moments she focused on Kieran, on the battle and nothing else, but everytime they came around and she saw K'rahl and then a few rows down and to the left, K'Hare and the child, watching the fight together and apparently enjoying it immensely, despite the poor showing that Q'ol was making.

She hoped that K'rahl would stay where he was.  The chances of him approaching K'Hare were small, considering how much he disliked him, so she put it out of her mind as Kieran's blade found her flesh again.

K'rahl Son of kur'rk

K'rahl watched Q'olavraH closely as she started to fight.  Something was distracting her, he obviously had no idea what.  Had she seen him enter?

Whatever it was for some reason she was allowing it to distract her too much, this was most un-Q'olavraH.  Usually she would use an incident to her advantage.

He watched Kieran too.  There was something different about the fighting style of his old friend.  Perhaps he had spent too long away from Klingon Society, if so perhaps his son's education was floundering.  K'rahl made a mental note to check on this, the Lord of the House of Komar deserved some extra assistance.

Suddenly Q'olavraH looked straight at him, over the shoulder of kieran.  She flashed an angry glare at him.  Clearly she had seen him enter.  Having just arrived he was unsure what he could possibly have done to anger her.  Perhaps she thought he had been here longer and had not contacted her, no she would know that if he had arrived earlier he would have sought her out.

Regardless he continued watching.  He saw his Mate focus more on the task at hand.  Perhaps his presence was assisting her find the focus, perhaps she was angry at herself for allowing his presence to distract her.

Then he noticed K'Hare, the upstart, cheering her.  Granted the warrior had some merit but K'rahl knew that if he was still in the KDF there was no way one such as K'Hare could prosper so.  What amazed him was that the racist prospered in the Federation's influence.  Again granted, the bigotry of this one was mostly for half-bloods.  That was when he noticed the child with K'Hare.  Why did the Houseless cur have a child with him, curious.  Unless during his time on KDB he had decided to take one of the valiant widows as a Mate.  So many of the System's Males were dead, perhaps one of the widows had seen a good prospect in mating with a senior officer.  If this were so it may be an improvement.

K'rahl realised that now he was distracted from the matter in hand.  That matter being watching the be' he loved fight.

K'Tar stood in the crowd, watching the fight.  He wasn't happy with the way this human who called himself Kieran was fighting.  He had heard the Starfleet Officer belonged to a Klingon house.  The human apparently had no sense of honor, more like he only cared to win than follow the path of honor.  He continued to watch the fight with interest.

She hoped that K'rahl would stay where he was. The chances of him approaching K'Hare were small, considering how much he disliked him, so she put it out of her mind as Kieran's blade found her flesh again.

Kieran, his Klingon Imperial Intelligence uniform having some knicks and tears from the few hits that Q'ol had scored on him, knew that he would be worn down eventually by Q'ol, he rembered that from his practices with her on the Hegh leng, she had an internal endurance that he just couldn't match. He had always respected her for it, but at this point, knew that it could cost him, even though she was distracted, so he decided to try and end the match, using techniques that though not illegal, where frowned upon, and would probably get him some jeers from the crowd.

Setting himself up for his next moved, Kieran lowered his body and arms slightly, which would allow him to bring his batleH up and into the wrists of Q'ol, and if he timed it right, he would cause enough pain to force Q'ol to drop her weapon, and thus giving him the victory.

He finally saw his chance after a few swipes back and forth between them and went for it, bring the weapon up hard and sharp, at such an angle that if he wasn't controlling it, it could potentially sever her wrists. thankfuly, he was controlling his trajectory, with extra precision, since he knew that his competitor was distracted by something or someone.

She saw the blow coming but it was to late to do anything about it.

Pain slammed up her arms but she doggedly held on, until Kieran jammed her blade toward her and then jerked it away with a point through one of the grip holes.

She watched the betleH skitter away from her and stood staring at it where it lay.

The crowd was shocked to see their favorite lose, especially to a human. Kieran took no pleasure in defeating Q'ol. He did what he had to, but the human in him was sorry that he took advantage of her. He bowed to her in complete respect for her and her House, and after saluting, and being declared the victor, he left the arena, to let Q'ol be alone with her family. Kieran was sure the time would come when K'rahl would seek him out.

Kieran's story continues at http://www.batlh.com/cgi-bin/betleHIII/YaBB.pl?board=Day2fd;action=display;num=1 109214236
