 The Morning After

Captain Charlie Reynolds woke up in his quarters on XFY with what seemed like a hangover. Had he been normal, this would not have been suprising. But Charlie wasn't normal. He was different. He had genetic, Physical, and biological enhancements, inlcuding one that prevented him from getting drunk or intoxicated. Unfortunately, that did not protect him from the after effects, as he soon finds out.

"Uuuungh" Reynolds gets up and showers, still in uniform. After changing into a clean one, he pops a couple stims.
"Computer, time?"
'0530'
"Blood-alcohol level?"
'.021'
"No wonder I feel so lousy. All right, tell the doc I'm on my way."
'Message sent'
His pet stirs, then wakes up, stretches, and slithers to the edge of the bed. "Make a note, Pip: never mix Romulan Ale, Klingon tradition, and brutal combat." Pip hisses in agreement. "Come on, Pip, lets go to sickbay."
Reynolds pops a couple more stims and heads for sickbay, followed by an eager flying snake.

CMO: Ah, Captain Reynolds, I've been expecting
you.
REYNOLDS: I can see that, doc.
CMO: (scanning with a tricorder) It appears that
you have a hangover.
REYNOLDS: Impossible!
CMO: (showing tricorder) See for yourself.
Your blood-alcohol levels are far above
normal. You are intoxicated.
REYNOLDS: I can't be!
CMO: I am afraid that you are only human,
captain. Even you are suseptible to the
effects of alcohol.
REYNOLDS: You don't understand, I am immune
to intoxicating beverages. Its one
of the enhancements I was given as
a child.
CMO: Well you may be immune to the effects,
but not the result. You have a hangover.
REYNOLDS: Fine doc, just give me something for
it, and I already had some stims.
CMO: (Injecting a drug) This should help with
the pain, and this (injecting another
drug) should remove the alcohol from
your system.
REYNOLDS: How long will that take?
CMO: About two to four hours.
REYNOLDS: Thanks doc!
CMO: My pleasure, but do stay away from the
Romulan Ale, captain.
REYNOLDS: You got it doc!
Reynolds leaves sickbay and heads straight for the Legion. "Lets get breakfast, Pip. Race ya!" The minidrag squeaks with delight and the two friends race down the corridor.

REYNOLDS: Bartender, two Raktajinos, and some
gagh for my friend.
The bartender brings the two some coffee, and sets a plate of gagh in front of Pip, who digs in gleefully. Reynolds secretly adds a little Romulan Ale to his coffee.
