Title: The cheng Sibilings
Post by Ta`pez on Feb 11th, 2006, 9:46pm

<cheng pach>

ON:
Taj'vl was getting ready to leave the cheng pach for the ceremony.  His d'k tahg was sheathed, and his bat'leth was already waiting for him at the wall.

"My brother, I thought I would never say this ." somebody said. "But that armor looks good on you."

Taj'vl turned towards the doorway to see Separ there, "I am ready."

"Almost." she said as she came closer. "I would say."  She adjusted his House sash.

"There, much better." she said with a chuckle.

"Thank you," he said, with a mixed feeling.  He wanted to look proper for the tournament, there would be a lot of people there.  But he also felt like his sister was still treating him like the little errand boy on Khitomer.

"I wouldn't want to embaress our poor father," Separ retorted. "Now that he is ambassador on his god forsaken  base..." she couldnt help but laugh as she saw the whiff annoyance on Taj'vI's face.

"It was a joke." she said as if pleading for an excuse.

You make a lot of those," Taj'vl retorted, "but quantity is not as good as quality."

She gave him an insulted look before chuckling some more. "Let's go, we'll be late for the Ceremony."

poQ was annoyed at the fact that he was here byhimself. He had expected his son to be on time, but neither he nor Ta'pez had managed to get here on time.

His thoughts were interupted when he saw his two children entering the hall. He motioned them over to where he was standing with his kr'tach.

Taj'vl noticed poQ, "Separ, our father is there."  He nodded in that direction.  poQ looked impatient, no doubt because they were late.  Their tardiness would reflect on him as well.

Separ looked over and nodded, "Lets hurry." she said in a hushed voice as they passed through the hall, "I dont think he is too pleased with us."

Taj'vl and Separ moved at a rushed, but carefully dignified manner towards their father.  Taj'vl had to remind himself that he was no longer on Khitomer, surrounded only by those of his House.  His behavior would not only reflect on, but be observed by the joH.  "Not pleased at all," Taj said under his breath.

The kr'tach parted around the two newcomers and poQ looked at them like a hawk. "You are late." he said matter of factly.

The voice of his was cool and his demeanor was that of a klingon who had drunk much yet wasn't drunk just yet.

The two of his children didnt say anything, they knew better not to speak when he was chiding them. Unless he wanted to hear an appology.

Taj knew better than to look away from his father, but he could not help it.  Last year, he saw a few races he had never seen before.  This year, there were even more.  Species he had only seen on a computer screen.  The hall they were in was expansive, bigger than the main hall on Khitomer.  A silent but sharp jab from Separ shook him out of his wondering, and he turned back to poQ.

"Thats the terran that he gave ch'moghs blade" Separ said quietly, "The one next to the Caitain Admiral."

After observing the Caitian, a species that Taj had never seen before, he noticed the man, memorized his face.  If Taylor dishonored ch'mogh's blade, Taj'vl would kill Taylor himself.

"Don't even think about it, there will be a few infront of you lining up to do so if he dishonors the gift given."

Separ said as she noted the look of her younger brother. Sometimes he reminded her of Ta'pez when she first met him.  She looked around and couldn't see him.

Taj tried his best to ignore his sister.  If Taylor dishonored the blade, nobody would stop him.  "Then," Taj said, "for his sake, we should hope he acts with honor."

"Oh he will." said poQ who had turned their attention back towards his children.  "Leave that to me, he certainly will."

"Father," Taj began, "where is Ta'pez?  I have not seen him yet."

Their joH was present, he knew, but had not seen Ta'pez.  He had been expecting to find him on the cheng pach, but he had already left.

"He has a fairly busy schedule meeting."  poQ answered. "Are you ready for your match, I think he said something about attenting."

Taj'vl stood straight up straight, as if he was accepting a challenge.  "I spent much time on the way here in the training hall," Taj said, "I am ready."

"Good" poQ said approvingly. "Let's go to the hall and see you . I am growing tired of these diplomats and their chatter."

"Father, you are an Ambassador now," Taj said, "is it not your job to listen to their endless prattle?"

poQ shot him a murderous look that made Taj realize he was very close to having his qualifying bout a lot sooner and of more concequence then anything or anybody he would face during this tournament.

poQ, Separ, Taj'vI and several of the cheng kr'tach left the Ceremony. The matches would start soon and they had decided to get a good pair of seats.

OFF:  The cheng horde is leaving for the Qualifying Matches
