A meeting of Houses.

Q'SwerD walked from his vessel onto the meH'Haj. K'Trol followed him. and behind K'Trol were three other weHwI'. All wore the single red baldric and crest of the p'Dra'on.

He beckoned the wearrior that was there to greet him nearer.

"Yes Lord K'Trol?" MorloQ said.

K'Trol noted that this was a weHwI' pilot and assumed he was here to ferry him to Serenity.

"Before I go to Serenity I wish to talk to the 'ech. Please convey my wishes to him."

No matter how politely it was worded MorloQ knew this was an order. An order from a member of the High Council.

"As you request Lord K'Trol." MorloQ saluted and turned and left.

The story is continued from The fury of the righteous

poQ was concerned about ta'pez. Ever since the slaying of the meH'Handra joH ta'pez was unsettled, and this was something not seen often. poQ had thrown his lot with ta'pez because he seemed cool and calculated, now however, he was less sure of that initial assesment.

"It's the battle fever," poQ thought, "in a few days the routine will set in and he shall be the old Ta'pez once again.".

Ta'pez lookeed up, taken away from his thoughts of anger, he looked up and saw poQ shaking his head in a silent no.

=/\= Take them to the conference room, make sure your escort is sufficient. Ta'pez out. =/\=

PoQ looked at him.

"I dont think". poQ started

"I don't care." Ta'pez interupted him. "K'rahl will be crushed soon enough. And even if not, I will not hide for one reason or another."

poQ and two of his kr'tach accompanied Ta'pez to the conference room. poQ would have prefered to have a whole unit in place, preferably with that madman K'vok leading them but he didn't want to make any further suggestions to Ta'pez at this moment.

"I still think this is a mistake " poQ said, "we have nothing to gain from this."

Ta'pez just looked at him and the old man grew silent.

Entering the Conference Room K'Trol decided to sit in the chair reserved for Ta'pez. He was after all the senior Klingon present in both years and authoriity.

Q'SwerD took up position to his left and the other three stood behind them.

"Will he compl?" Q'SwerD asked.

"He would be foolish to not do so. Certainly his forbearer would have seized the opportunity."

MorloQ stood outside of the conference when Ta'pez came.

"Are they in there." the 'ech asked.

"Yes, K'trol along with four of his kr'tach" MorloQ responded.

Ta'pez nodded although a look of annoyance flashed in his eyes.

"I have also notified G'trell of the security you requested." MorloQ said. "Considering the fact that the the house of p'Dra'on is warring with the house k'rahl she saw to it that the section is locked down and secure."

poQ chuckled but stifled his laugh quickly.

"Thank you MorloQ" Ta'pez said. "You may go, I am sure the ferrying is in full swing."

MorloQ nodded and saluted before leaving.

After the Pilot departed poQ followed Ta'pez into the conference room.

The joH of the p'Dra'on being the imperial bastard that he was had taken the spot of what was generally reserved for Ta'pez.

He looked at his joH, younger and stronger version of what poQ wanted to think he looked once. Whether it had angered Ta'pez or not he could not tell, then again, much of what happened behind the ridges of ta'pez was a mystery to poQ.

"Greetings, Lord K'trol." Ta'pez annouced in a friendly, if formal tone.

"May I introduce poQ, my right hand and advisor." Ta'pez motioned towards poQ.

"You idiot, ambassador poQ" thought poQ somewhat annoyed yet he simply saluted as any ambassador would.

K'Trol was happy to delay his transfer to Serenity. He was certain that by now K'rahl would know he had arrived. Let the upstart wait.

He was expecting news from mu'HamSa soon. He hoped that this news would be better than what he had heard earlier.

It was infuriating that no agent had as yet discovered who had killed his Shieldmaiden on KDB.

He watched Ta'pez and poQ enter.

"Greetings Ta'pez. i trust you are safely in command of your vessel once again. It must rankle that in your absence such an afront was made towards you by K'Hare."

Ta'pez shrugged though he was seeting inside.

"It seems that certain men in K'lach D'kel Brakt have delusions of grandure and pretend to be strong but only when those whom they wish ill are not there, surerely you have expirienced that yourself." he said calmly.

Ta'pez chuckled. " I on the other hand do not toy with my time or enemies. Surerly the meH'Handra will tell you of that, if any were left to tell the tale."

"Early losses in this little House War have gone K'rahl's way certainly. However that will soon change."

He smiled warmly.

"You see my fleet is much bigger than the one K'rahl has and much of it is waiting at mu'HamSa. You recall, the scene of K'rahl leading the defence against the Borg." he paused, knowing well that this ship and Ta'pez were there.

"Well it will be so fitting that when his mother arrives with her ship she will find not the supporters she expects to rally to his cause but two dozen warships under the command of tarQIn."

"I expect my son and grandson will find that news a little bitter."

"Oh they remain my blood. Even after theirs is spilt." He smiled.

"No longer my heirs of course. Yes there is wealth to be found in the holdings he has ceased on Klach d'kel Brakt but only a fraction of my full wealth."

He waved his hand dismissively. "That doesn't matter now though."

He leaned forward and spoke firmly.

"After I have defeated K'rahl and his followers I will be looking for an ally to plave in his position. But not just his." he looked hard at Ta'pez.

"After K'rahl is dead I want to deal with K'Hare." he paused again.

"When I control the system and thw starbasw I will need a strong hand to rule there when I turn my attention.... to larger prey."
