See Setting things up to see where Kieran was prior. Kieran had arrived quietly at the welcoming ceremony, dressed in civilian clothes with the Komar baldric. He had ate lunch and received notice that K'ral, Q'ol, K'Trol and Kur'rk had all arrived on the starbase, but no Be'thal yet. If she hadn't arrived by the evening, he would use his II access and see if he could find out where she was. Kieran stood quietly in the back, and scanned the crowd, looking to see if where who was, and who was partnered with whom. Quote from Ktrol on Feb 11th, 2006, 1:14pm:
K'Trol ignored the Federation speakers. His eyes were on K'rahl and Kur'rk. He also watched the crowd. He saw the Komar dog. Another that needed to be swept aside, he would leave II almost to the last. He would cleanse them the same day he launched for Qo'noS. The speeches from the Federation were thankfully short. Looking at K'Hare when he spoke he was dispassionate. This one was no use to him. He would have ben no use if Chang had succeeded either. In truth if Chang had succeeded this one might have been the current threat to the Empire. As it was he was simply one step that would be taken after the House War was complete. Kieran made eye contact with K'Trol, K'rahl's grandfather had never much liked him, and the feeling was mutual. Imperial Intelligence was wary of K'Trol, and Kieran knew to keep his distance, especially with the current inter-House warfare. Kieran quietly made his way through the crowd, disappearing from K'Trol's vision. Quote from Krahl on Feb 11th, 2006, 12:51pm:
K'rahl listened with disinterest to Duerkes, not out of any dislike of the man, Duerkes was a fine officer with a sound reputation. No, he was simply distracted by all that lay ahead. He would have been here without the House War but he knew there would have been a great difference in other circumstances. He would be here to support Q'olavraH, not just to be seen in public defying K'Trol. He would possiblty even have entered himself. He would be relaxed. Looking to his father he saw that the old warrior was listening intently to the speeches. He heard Duerkes hand over to his 'blood brother' and turned to look at the Commander of KDB. He listened to K'Hare and he cursed quietly as though he'd not admit it publivly he knew K'Hare was right. He had made mistakes in this very contest, when he had allowed his pride come before his honour. This was a game, not war. He should never have sunk to the level of Ta'pez. He should have fought cleanly, though that would have brought defeat. His pride had blinded him more than once. He looked down to his hands. Hands that had broken the necks of traitors to the Empire. Hands that had choked the life out of a Hirogen Drone. Hands that had eased friends from this life towards the Great Halls. Hands that had held the one close to his heart and cradled two tiny babies. All these things were things of honour, and there were more of them that he had performed over and over again. He looked away from them as a few examples of what they had done inco0rrectly came to him. They were few, yet they were enough that when question of the integrety of his House's honour were raised she could not be certain of his innocence. He refused to show anything of his thoughts on his face. Kieran had moved through the crowd, watching K'rahl as he listened to the speechs, but makiing sure to not be seen by his old Commander, his sister, or his two shieldmaidens. Finally, near the end of K'hare's speech, he found himself in striking distance. If he had been an assassing, He could probably kill K'rahl now before his security would get him. Kieran quietly slipped into an open spot in K'rahl's security and stepped up to the rather tall Klingon, who was a head and a half taller then the human engineer and said quietly, in the language of K'brd'Lok, "Next time, I would suggest at least another shieldmaiden, qumwI'" <TAG K'rahl>
