K'Hare cocked his head to the side as if the comment was out of left field.  "You're the jeghpu'wI'?  Well... if I'd known that ..."

qul'yIt snarled slightly.  He pulled from a hidden place in his armor the House badge he never wore on outside and set it on the table.  "If I am in error of speaking to you, I will leave...  I called myself by what others know me as, but I am no jeghpu'wI'."

K'Hare looked over at Taylor with a questioning look, the words still hanging... "if I'd have known that..."

Taylor looked back, "You'd have said 'What the hell does that mean?'" he smiled as he said it, either he be right or wrong, but K'Hare needed a prod to make him give the poor Klingon a reply.

K'Hare laughed.  "No, I know what it means.  I'd have said, 'Why do I care what others call you?  I make my own evaluations.'"  He looked back at the tattooed officer.  "I already explained this.  I gave the choice of filling the open position to one of my officers.  It is as much a test of his decision making as it is a chance for you."  The totlh stood up for emphasis.  "Do YOU doubt my decisions?  Do YOU question my orders?"  His stare threatened to burn holes into the junior officer.

qul'yIt fumed for a moment.  He may be a Junior officer, but he was one with a lot of anger.  He nearly snapped back...  for a long moment he glared at K'Hare, struggling with his anger to keep from doing something foolish that would likely end up with a dagger in his gut.  He wanted to tell him right in his face...  "I questioned your intentions, as I would with anyone else.  I have been backstabbed to many times otherwise..."  He pulled a breath threw his teeth.. he was still angry, but he was cooling down and was getting a better understanding of what was said to him.   "It seems I have part of the answer now."  He said a bit calmer but watching for K'Hare's blade.

"Do not question fate lagh.  You may be angered by it when it costs you, you may challenge it when you start a quest, but do not question it when it goes your way.  Either call it chance or hope that you did something, somewhere, that you don't know of, to deserve.  This is a chance for you.  You have a chance to prove you are worthy of this challenge.  I do not care about your history.  I will judge you for myself.  In this case, someone else has given you the opportunity and if you fail, I will blame them and they can blame you.  If you succeed, then you have earned the success and proven the value of their judgement.  But don't lose the challenge because you are so angry at your past that you fail to see opportunity.  Get over it.  I do not schedule my life based on your demons.  You are not that important.  Prove me wrong with your future actions."  He stopped to drink and emptied his tankard.   Without looking he handed it to Taylor.  He kept his glare on qul'yIt.

"Now, get out of my sight before I get mad.  You are ruining my buzz."

Dan took K'Hare's tankard from him and moved to refill it, his mind mulled over his earlier conversations with Tauvits as he did. He was still kicking himself over the way he came close to spilling his guts so soon after they met.

He had to get a grip on himself.

Pulling the totlh's tankard from the keg he thrust it back in to the Klingons hand and lifted his own and draining half of the contents in one go.

"Come along K'Hare" He said with a forced smile let us drink.

Jackie entered the bar , the dinner earlier on cleared her mind a little; but the day's events still pressed firmly into her mind; which is why she came to the bar now, maybe a few mugs of bloodwine or the stuff toreQ had introduced her too the other night would help her.

Jackie wanted to keep a low profile especially after the impromtu match with Ch'Pok, but the Caitian also knew if she stayed away, she might give the impression that her spirit had been killed or she's been injured too severely or upset that she was out of the tournament, and she wasn't about to let that happen. She may have been out of the running, but she couldn't have asked for a better way end it. So back she was as if nothing had gone on, looking around the bar for a familiar face as she ordered a mug of bloodwine.

Jackie spotted Taylor and K'Hare off to the side, she gave a wave in their direction as she started making her way towards the two, not sure if it was right for her to join them or not.

Jade walked into the bar she had spent the last 2hrs looking for Tycho and had not yet managed to find him, she was getting annoyed it meant he was either hiding from her or he had gone to the zoomie bar where she could not go unless he was with her.

Well, (she thought to herself) if he wants to play hide and seek let him find me I for one intend to enjoy this shore leave.

Walking up to the now crowded bar she found a gap behind a Klingon male who was talking with a human male she did not notice their rank, not that it would bother her in her present mood but a few tankards of Bloodwine would help with that.

Jade called to the barman "Barman 3 tankards of bloodwine, now" he looked at the person calling out thier order and was about to say something to her as he walked closer but after taking a good look at her face and taking in the fresh looking scars he though better of it and just served her.

She picked up the first tankard and downed it in one she did the same with the second slamming the empty tankards own on the bar, letting out an enormous burp she wiped the back of her hand across her mouth then picked up the third and started to drink it taking the time to actually savour the taste of it as she drank it.

It would take some time for him to understand these people, but he knew K'Hare was right.  He shouldn't question the new chance he had been given, even if it was unexpected.  There was a renewed sense of determination in him.  This time was to take the chance he had been given and make his best out of it.  He had finally been handed a chance, he been fighting for so long, right out of the blue...

He looked at Satian now, still somewhat confused, but determined.  Though his look also said that he needed to speak to him soon.  "There are more watchers."  He told Satian lowly.  Then turned to leave, leaving the House Badge on the table.

"Sometimes you have to fight to give them a chance to prove themselves."   What he had said had been true.  He had let roS select the new gunner and he had picked qul'yIt.   K'Hare probably would not have.  He had not seen anything worth saving in the Klingon.   His past was too discouraging, but he'd given the choice to roS and now qul'yIt was roS's project, just as roS was K'Hare's.

K'Hare took another drink and nodded at Clawson as she started to come over.  "Looks like your newest project si here."  He smiled when she made it to the bar.  "Grab a drink and tell us how your interspecies negotiations are going."

Jackie ordered up some bloodwine.

"My what...?" she asked, slightly confused. "oh that..." she shook her head to clear it "it's... ah.. I don't know... " she admitted. "I have not seen him since ... things. he actually wasn't really on my mind in the last several hours." she noted.

"Ehrm... kind of been a mix of things.." the Caitian said. "Just...thinking of what the past two days have been like" she said. "many firsts, many things that brought back some memories and woke up a part of me" she smiled lightly

The Klingon female moved from a shadowy doorway holding an Hoqra', after she moved away, another shadow moved from the doorway and went the other direction.  They had not been seen, of this she was sure.

While she did not trust the person she was being forced to work with, at least the information about the house war that they got for her was accurate, and no one could ever find out that she had gotten the information.  He had given his word that he would never let anyone know about their association, but she knew his word meant nothing.

She read the information on the Hoqra'.  Ship and troop placements and the numbers on both sides.  This was a report from 12 hours before.  Things still looked as if K'rahl could prevail.  She knew better than anyone that he was better when outnumbered and outgunned.

She still did not know if this was a ploy on his part to make himself look as if he had nothing to do with the rot in his house.  A way to save face.  She might never know.  Her contacts within K'trol's ranks had been killed at the very begining of the conflict.  Apparently they had not hidden their tracks well enough.

She finished reading the information and erased it from the Hoqra' set the internal mechanism to destroy the Klingon device, and then waited for it to begin to disintegrate from heat before she tossed it into another darkened doorway and watched as it turned into a pile of plasticy smelling ash.

She moved toward the Lucky Strike.  She was sober.  She had sent a message to the protector of her children, after reading the update he had sent to her.  Now her business was complete, and she needed to get drunk.  She hated moving around in secret.  It disgusted her to do so, and the sooner these matters were concluded the sooner she could get on with life.

She entered the bar with a frown still on her face, until she saw the Caitian Admiral sat with K'Hare.  Then she smiled a little.  She wondered what fun her friend would poke at the fuzzy creature tonight.
