| Today is September 16, 2005, more then 6 months after this event and the judges have returned. Why? Because we are preparing for the fourth annual event. What you are now logged into is a copy of the forum that was used for betleHIII. The forum software has been updated to a new version and the forum has been locked so taht it can be revisted for those interested. So, if something looks different or is missing, email K'Hare at khare@betleH.com and he will work on it. This copy's layout might be a little different but the content, the posts, should be the same. I have punted on the colors. The color setup for the two forum versions is just too different. Fortunately, the default colors are a light blue which is what we did for the forum anyway. Also, the bbcode text highlighting seems to be off. Not a big deal but some signatures will look odd (like mine). |

There's fun and there's plot, I promise, I just got lazy and all blocked in the writer's brain. Oh, and edited because I'm not a rampant egotist, honestly, congratulations to Wade. He deserves it.  |

| Indeed. My post was to point out what I felt was inconsistant, as well as reinforcing the right of Valren to intercede. Rewriting the ending without the explosion would work. Indeed technicaly you could claim the craft for your House. The survivors of the ship might be from other Houses and decide to join you. You might simply leave the ship, satisfied that honour had been acheived for your fallen brother. You could even agree that if Valren permits this post as is that you surrender to his Security when charged. It would then fall to the nearest Klingon Government official to get you out of his cells. That would be Kur'rk by the way since Kur'rk is the Klingon Representative on the base. That would probably leave your ship impounded here (XFY not this Forum), your crew confined to ship and some interesting posting. There are a range of possibilities. If the last one interests you speak with Valren and myself. If the sugge sounds better then do that. |

| I know some threads never got finished but that happens. I think the tourney is done. If nothing else happens I will be locking the forum in a few days. You won't be able to post anymore, but it will all still be readable. I might also look into setting it up on a secondary site as an archive. |

| OFF: I didn't get a chance to reply here before I had to go LOA. I guess we can try to do this little plot later. Maybe during the year or at next years. I can have the NPC show up on KDB from time to time and if you visit, we can bring up the obvious questions there. |

So yes, its serious for me. There is a place for different styles. There are different simms with different foci. And yes, I have an agenda. I want to see Klingons played better in BF so I will comment when I see something that doesn't feel right to me. But in the end, it is just my opinion. I leave it to the audience to decide who is 'right'. Feel free to have a Klingon simm that is a parody of trek or is written as a musical. But don't expect me to let you use my character and make it canon for my simm. Same with others here. This is a huge joint mission so you have to consider other people's styles and not step on them. As K'rahl said, killing the bridge crew with a disruptor questions your honor. Perhaps the HoD would never face you but there would be other ways to react to that. But once you killed him, you killed the other 5 (and there should have only been 5 more) crew members by blowing the ship. Is there honor there? Regardless of whether the ship was docked with another, blowing up one in an area where ships are densely packed is a threat to them. Of course those ships would investigate. Even if the issue of being in fed space was ignored, a Klingon ship blew up and no claim to the cause, no challenge, no explanation was given. To anyone looking from the outside, the ship was attacked in a by stealth and subterfuge, a Klingon ship around a fed base was blown up. You don't think the Empire would have questions for Valren? There is nothing wrong with playing a Klingon who pretends honor while not being so, or a Klingon who's rage makes him make a mistake. But you cannot just do a thing and expect everyone to ignore it. Maybe we are too serious, but you aren't considering the effect you have on us by forcing us to accept it quietly. roS made mention of the ship blowing up. That's the hard thing to get past. He also said something about the transporter. Look at every post I had made on the subject. Klingons will use transporters, its canon. But my interpretation is they only do it when it invovles battle in some way... when the chance of dying through an accident is acceptable because your posture was aggressive and you were ready for death. I could get past the attack on the bridge if it was established before or after, that the foe would not face you honorably. But the next action, in my opinion, should have been to tell the rest of the ship what you just did and then waited to fight them, not to cover it up by blowing up the ship and hiding the act. |
